A.S.-Aqua Velva(100th Anniversary, 82nd as an A.S.)-Classic Ice Blue

*ocean-burst scent, so it's KINDA menthol.

C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream
Jayaruh #2
Gillette Tuckaway
Rockwell Swedish Stainless

Thayer's Lemon WH
Osage Rub

The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #2 badger brush. I did the two passes with the Gillette Tuckaway razor and Rockwell Swedish Stainless blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

What is your opinion about the OneBlade Core ?

 

I actually like it with the notation that it you can't use it with your normal SE or DE techniques. I use it will a little pressure and with long shaving strokes. Used in this manner I find to be more efficient than a Merkur 34C or Super Speed with the same number of passes. The shave is very smooth without a hint of irritation. They do have a second version that addressed some of the issues with the first and is supposed to be more aggressive. I wanted to use this once again for a few days to decide if I wanted to exchange it for V2.

As I said yesterday, this setup is the coldest on Planet Earth!

The Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap gave me its lovely Sharp Dressed Man scent along with such an intense menthol punch and of course, its rich, super-slick lather. The Glacial Unscented balm really prolonged that freeze and the Arctique aftershave splash added its own super frigid action. This aftershave must be used sparingly or it can have a devastating effect - I'm very serious. Thanks to my cherished 1950's Super Speed loaded with a brand-new Astra I received an awesome three pass BBS shave!

Today's shave
Menthol Monday
Hot water wash with a washcloth
Bombed Soap Commander Vision
Kent infinity silvertex knot
Above the Tie Calypso (r1)
Persona Crystal (3)
Men's Choice Artic Blue
Today's shave was nice. The silvertex made good lather, albeit i had to work it a bit. The silvertex doesn't like to splay, but when it does, it makes the good lather. Three passes with the Calypso. The R plate makes this a near perfect razor. I'd have thought I'd miss the weight. But the shave yesterday left me smooth to after 5 (9o'clock shave). This morning a perfect bbs. One cant argue with results. Finish with 2 dollar a/v clone. Nice cool shave for a menthol Monday.
Hope y'all did as well, or better.

 

Hope you like the Fields&Streams, as I do. (I didn't buy the balm). How about the Topaz...I might trek over to a local Sally's and see if they have that, or another Master.

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

RazoRock Tuscan Oud today. 10 seconds to load the Elite Razor Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette 7 O’Clock Blue SP in the Maggard V2 Open Comb. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with RazoRock Tuscan Oud aftershave.

Same line-up as yesterday.

Soap: TSD Rose & Patchouli lanolin
Brush: Semogue 620 boar
Razor: Fatip Grande
Blade: Nacet (2)
Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum

I seem to prefer lanolin based soaps over the tallow types. For me, just a better post shave feel to my skin.
