    Llyr Stay frosty, my friends!

    Sunday:
    Hot Shower
    Proraso PrePost cream
    H.I.S. synthetic brush
TSD Tobacco Leaf Lanolin Soap & Tobacco Leaf Wheat Cream/Ayar's Bowl :love029: :love029: :love029:
Gillette Red Tip/Radira Swedish Super Steel (1)
    cold water rinse
    Monster Block Alum
    cold water rinse
    Thayer's WH
TSD Tobacco Leaf splash mixed with a pea sized amount of 444 :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

This was my first time with a Red Tip and a first for the Rapira Swede.Very nice shave indeed,2 pass face,1 pass head, some touch-up work on the dome.I found the Red Tip to be a lil more aggressive than my 40's style Super Speed but really not by much, maybe better feedback as well.My first time with the Swedish Super Steel and I like it already, very nice BBS shave.TSD Tobacco Leaf continues to impress me with scent and performance. The splash goes on strong but quickly fades to the point where I can detect it.This is not a overbearing aftershave and probably not for everyone. This is a real Tobacco Leaf scent, the soap almost reminds me of Balkan Sobranie cigarettes and the pipe tobacco. The aftershave smells more like a cigar leaf,at least to me.Well worth checking it out if you've been looking for more of a tobacco leaf rather than a tobacco flower, like Tabac,Vitos Colonia Tabacco and Alt-Innsbruck.

Thanks Lloyd! I think the no-name French razor is a L'Essor. I noticed the same razor in another forum today and I'm almost positive that is what it is. Now at least I have a brand name for it and can quit saying "un-branded" or "no-name" ! :D

    Sunday July 29

    Razor: Schick B2 Repeating Razor
    Brush: Whippeddog Silvertip
Soap: Uncle Pooleys w/ KMF unscented
AS: Nivea Sensitive w/ Pinaud Clubman

Pretty good shave today. I couldn't get a stable lather from the soap so I gave it a shot of KMF and fixed it right up. It has a very nice woodsy scent but the lather I got was really thin and airy. This was only the 2nd or 3rd shave with my injector but it was pretty smooth. I'll have to get the hang of it a little better.

Another excellent shave with this razor/blade combination. I have been sticking with the Semogue 1800 as it is a new brush I bought some time ago and had never used. It needs a little breaking in!

Prep: Brush soaking in hot water, face scrub with TSD Sandalwood soap, Tepid Water Shower
Razor: 1965 Gillette Slim Adjustable set to 9
Blade: Blind Blade Test Blade #4, Shave #2
Brush: VIe-Long LE Beehive Natural Horse Hair
    Soap: Tabac
    AS: Canoe
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave.

This is day nine of the blind blade test, which is the second shave with blade number four.

Per the guidelines of the test I will not be posting my results of the blade, as we do not want other participants to be influenced by our own shaving experience. At the end of the test, I will be posting my complete daily journal.

All variables remain the same accept for the aftershave, which today is a Canoe.

This scent brings back a lot of memories for me, as it was the scent that my bio-father wore a lot. For those that have not wore it, the intial scent is a powdery one similar to Clubman. I find the largest difference are the more vanilla and oakmoss notes, but is is close enough to clubman it could be confused for it.

The Tabac continues to amaze me...just look at that jar, I cannot close the lid as the puck is larger than when I put it in. So not only is it the best tallow based soap, it must have a magical ability, as it grows and grows and grows. Maybe it will have the same effect on my whiskers and I can shave more.
