This is day eleven of the blind blade test, which is the first shave with blade number five.

Per the guidelines of the test I will not be posting my results of the blade, as we do not want other participants to be influenced by our own shaving experience. At the end of the test I will be posting my complete daily journal.

All variables remain the same accept for the aftershave, which today is Gillette Coolwave.

Face Wash: Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash
    Razor: Merkur 38M
    Blade: Personna Super (2)
    Brush: Semogue 1305
    Soap/Cream: Tet-A-Tet SC
    Post: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

My intent was to use the Tet-A-Tet as a pre-shave lather and use my Istitut Karite as my shave lather. I put my typical amount of cream on the brush and the resulting explosion of lather made me decide to go ahead and shave with the Tet-A-Tet. This was my first time every lathering the stuff and I hadn't realized it had menthol in it, so that was a nice surprise. The lather was very plentiful, as noted above, and very slick. I like this stuff. While the various Creighton creams are quality products, it's nice to have a different type of cream that still gives top notch performance.

I finished with a splash of Myrsol Agua Balsamica. This was a sample I got from Garry's Sample shop and unfortunately I have enough for only 1 more splash. It's a great product and at some point I'll buy more, but not in the near future.

    Razor: GEM MMCP
    Blade: Ted Pella
    Brush: Silvertip
    Soap: TSD C2
    ASB: Nivea w/ Clubman
Shave seemed a little rough when I pushed for the baby but the ASB had zero burn so I must have done something right.

    Music> dinner Jazz
    PS> virgin Olive, water
    Soap> Hugo Geranium - Grapefruit - Bergamot
    Razor> Big Boy Deluxe
    Blade> Derby
    AS> Lemon oil
    Brush> Omega wood

Decided to give the face a rest and went with the ol' EE today. The mission was a great success. A very near BBS and what looks like the best shave to date. Love the new soap scent..Hugo Naturals has apparently tweaked their Geranium..they took out the Cucumber and replaced it with Bergamot and a shot of Grapefruit essence. The Grapefruit and Bergamot addition seems to have taken the edge off that overpowering flowery smell..perfection..kudoz. Here's wishing all fellow shave space travelers a great day..:)

CD: Chuck Leavell ~ Back to the Woods
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenyan AA, BLACK
    Soap: TSD Coffee
Brush: Ever Ready 200T with original knot

Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Thayer's Rose Petal WH with Aloe Vera, hand strop blade

I had heard the Blue Tip was mild, and I heard correctly. Not a bad shave, though. I was able to get close enough for a very decent shave.

    Today's Shower&Shave

    Hot Shower
    Proraso glycerin
    Semogue 1460
    TSD "Monkey Fart
    Gillette "Super Adjustable"
    Gillette "7'o'clock yellow"
Cold water splash, RazoRock alum, Kramperts Acadian

A long hot shower this morning, despite the blistering heat. Facial prep with Proraso glycerin, aids in making the lather a bit slicker. The brush choice today was one of my Semogue's, they have become the brush of choice in my den. Definitely will be adding more Semogue brushes to my Den. Razor and blade change today, chose the pairing of the Gillette Super Adjustable and a Gillette yellow. Dialed to 6 for the first two passes then dialed it down to 4 for the last pass.

Definitely a DFS worthy of gold.
Everyone stay cool, stay hydrated today in the heat.

    Tuesday 31st July

    Hot shower and Facial scrub
    3P Pre/Post shave
    Fatip Piccolo/ Kai
    Semogue 1800 brush
    Vitos Green Soap
Simple Facial Toner mixed with a little 444 ASB
    Lilac Vegetal
    Dax Super Neat

3 Pass BBs today. The shave felt a little more comfortable, but I am not sure if the blade was settling in.....or the soap made the difference. Vitos gives a VERY protective shave.

I'll have to check it out. I've been a big fan of his from his Allman Brothers Band days. I was able to see him play with the Allman Brothers in NYC about 12 years ago. His playing, particularly on "Jessica" just blew away the crowd. Of course he has an extensive history playing with the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton as well.
