    Semogue 1800 Boar
    Gillette Old Type
    Voskhod
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Semogue 1800 Boar brush. Two passes with my Gillette Old Type razor and a Voskhod blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    MENTHOL MONDAY, 6/29/15

Anticipated shave for the new work week...

Prep: Hot shower while brush and soap soak with hot water
    Razor: Star SE (Thanks @Omaney!)
Blade: Rite Aid Renewal (I think)
Brush: Strong Set (WD Black Badger knot)
Soap: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
    Alum: Maggard
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush

After more than a week of using my '57 Red Tip and getting, IMHO, BBS after BBS :happy093:, I'm moving on in my rotation. I loved my Red Tip as much as any razor I own. But there are so many choices. What fun is it to collect without using?

So I decided to give the Star SE another try. Prior shaves with the Star left me with an acceptable shave, but not much more. I'm hoping to improve my SE technique and see if I can get the type of shave the SE crowd raves about. Here's to learning...

Excellent shave on the first day of my AP psychology workshop. I've taught other AP classes for years, but this Fall will be my first with psychology. Krampert's Frostbite soap and aftershave are a refreshing combination. The Colonel had little trouble making slick lather, and the Fatboy decimated my stubble, leaving smooth comfortable skin.
    Prep: Mickey Lee Lime
    Soap: Krampert's Finest Frostbite
    Brush: The Colonel
    Razor: '59 Fatboy 9/7/7
    Blade: Voskhod (1)

Great near BBS shave this morning but this razor is so mild it required a lot of work to get there. Going to finish out the June OC Focus and this head will be retired. Finished off with a splash of Floid Blue from the sample pack and I am ready for Monday. I think. ;)

Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam
Razor - Gillette Fat Handled Tech
    Blade - Feather Hi-Stainless (#2)
    Brush - Omega 10810
    Soap - Arko Soap/ Arko Cream/ Glycerine
After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix
    Result - BBS

Forgive me father for I have sinned, it's been six days since my last shave, and it didn't feel good! I much prefer a smooth face nowadays.
Back after a brilliant few days fishing, where filling a net took priority over shaving. It's the longest stubble I've had since going traditional in February of last year.
It's was a toss up between the 1912 and the Tech but the latter won. It's my favourite combination in DE and gets rid of longer, thicker stubble like it wasn't there. I'm still sticking with the überlather as the protection it offers is unparalleled.

My face is so frozen from the Glacial Spearmint soap - on top of that the Penguin gave me plenty of additional iciness. A great BBS shave!

Zaro! Such a clean fresh soap. The Semogue 1305 had no problem whipping up a mountain of lather. The RRBS is a nice smooth razor. Capri. Awesome.

World Tournament of Blades - Russia vs. the World!!
    June 29, 2015
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Razor - Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade - ladas-super-stainless.jpg (3)
    Post - Alum, Nivea Balm

And here we are at the last blade before the finals! Ladas has its chance for Russian glory as it takes the field on a cloudy day following tornadoes. Fortunately, shaving is unaffected by the weather but that sounds so dramatic.

The 98 and Fat again did their part in providing excellent slick, cushiony lather for the blade. The Ladas is on its third shave and seemed fearless as the first pass began. Still sharp and still smooth. This is one stainless blade that I really like the feel of. First pass seemed a bit less productive than normal but it could be the crowd roar that makes it seem so. Second pass, XTG and just a hint of tug in areas. Enough to take note but not enough to dock the score. One more shave on the blade may be too many but for now it's doing well. Lathered for the third pass and went ATG face and XTG/Gillette Slide on the neck. Finished with a very nice DFS. Not quite as close to BBS as the Voskhod produced but it's DFS for sure so that won't hurt. The only question is irritation because it feels like it may be higher than normal. We'll find out.

Scoring - Sharpness - 1. The Ladas is a sharp blade that has some lasting power. Smoothness - 1. Hinting at some tug/drag but it's still smooth enough for the score. Finish - DFS for the 2. Irritation - This is either going to tie things up and force me to break the tie or it will end the suspense. Cold rinse, hit the alum and...............burn. Definitely more than yesterday, less than some blades but it persisted until the final rinse. Too much to avoid the 2.

    Total - 6

And that, ladies and gentleman, means the winner is...........................

    :bounce017::bounce017::bounce017: voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg :bounce017::bounce017::bounce017:

After a great showing, the Ladas comes in second for the Russians. Still a great result! And, Voskhod moves on to take on the Bic starting tomorrow!! It's the finals! Enjoy your Monday!

1st use of the Lea SS and it was pretty nice. Rub a little on the face and lather away. Made a bunch of nice creamy lather quickly and worked well. Nice shave indeed.
