Another very good shave but my Astra blade is kapputt now - hey, after a whole week of faithful service it owes me nothing. The Tcheon Fung Sing Bergamotto Neroli soap smells so citrusy and refreshing, it gives a ton of lather so easily with good blade glide. The Amici aftershave has such a lovely scent with a little bit of a menthol effect. Great stuff! :happy088: :happy088:

    Hi Friends,

today, two relaxing things happend. First, my shave:

    Razor: Merkur 34C
    Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra (2)
    Brush: Semogue Barbear Classico Texugo
    Soap: Figaro Black
    Aftershave: Bronnley Lemon & Neroli

Back to the roots where it all startet. The Merkur 34C was the first "quality" razor i bought. Thoroughly and gentle. The blade played well with the razor. Nice combination. The soap smells like Grapefruit and was a good soap to use today because the sky is blue, the sun is shining and the temperature climbed up a bit. Nice!!! The Bronnley is an Eau Fraiche but i used it as an Aftershave today. Smells really nice. Lemon & Neroli with hints of wood. Lovely.

The second relaxing thing today, was sitting on the balcony in the sun with a cup of coffee and a pipe after i shaved. The coffee was with milk and a touch of sugar and the tobacco was Dunhill Early Morning. Great!!! A coffee with milk and sugar pairs very well with this tobacco. Very relaxing and joyful.

Now i will go back on the balcony and enjoy the warm weather. Have a great time and take care.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

It was quite a long time I was not using my shaving soap and today it was the right time to shave with it again. A luxurious shave, I must add. A beautiful and performing straight razor like Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, a gorgoues silvertip badger brush, my pre-shave oil and shaving soap, a fresh and citrusy touch of Myrsol Agua de Limón and here I got my luxurious shave. Mastro Livi Grifetto proves to be, shave after shave, an incredible razor with a velvety touch on your skin. I absolutely love it and, I must add, I have three of them in my collection.
    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: RazorGuy Shaving Soap
    • Brush: Mastro Livi Silver Tip Badger, 26mm knot
    • Bowl: Bamboo Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extravirgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Myrsol Agua de Limón

I have hard water, and I'll be very very honest, I'm lazy when it comes to loading my brush and lathering. I don't think I should waste time on a soap that requires a ton of attention, MW isn't hard to lather at all. For me.
I definitely wouldn't let the fear of not being able to lather Mystic Water Soap hold me back from buying a jar, this stuff is the GOODS!

    YMMV :)

    Sunday Morning Shave...

I was up early and enjoyed my routine before everyone was awake.

    Quite, calm, and relaxing...

This scent is similar to cold river soapworks bergamot & bay or Country Club Cahaba Blues. So if you are familair and enjoy either of those, you would really like this scent. I'm a fan.

    Have a good one gents.

    Prep: Hot Shower. Noxzema
    Razor: Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Ladas
Lather: Geo. F. Trumper Rose Shaving Soap
    Brush: Simpsons Berkeley 46B
    Post: Thayers Rose Petal WH
Aftershave: Geo. F. Trumper Coral Skin Food. RazoRock XXX
Great shave. I brought the sports car of Gillette razors out this morning, the Aristocrat. GFT Rose soap is wonderful, beautiful scent, slick, cushion-y, great post shave and a cool wooden bowl. I haven't used my Berkeley 46B is a long time, it felt very small compared to other brushes I've been using. GFT skin food is good stuff, I'm glad I've added it to my den. RR XXX is one of my favorite aftershaves.

Despite my fear of cooties with used brushes...I have convinced myself that this Victoria Badger I picked up at the antique store was in fact a NOS brush. And I cleaned it well. And it worked like a charm. :)

I noticed how my technique changed my opinion of things, too. I used to not like Astra SP, now it's a solid choice for me. Same with slants - I rushed to try a 37c, and payed in blood, but a year later I loved the 39c! That is, until the Futur conquered all for me. :)

    Superb Sandalwood Sunday
The fourth shave on this Rapira SS was as good as the first. Usually, I toss any blade after three shaves, but now I'm tempted to see how long this one can last. The Colonel made optimal lather from RP Sandalwood while I enjoyed the warm scent. Der Futur decimated my stubble in three drama free passes set on five. I finished with B&M Classic Splash from a sample and my face feels amazing. Soft, toned, and moisturized against the 28° unseasonably cold weather here.
