Funky Friday Lady Gillette (70's) Derby (day 2) Hand Crafted Preshave Oils TSD Cool Water Generic Witch Hazel TSD English Fern A/S Used this Lady Gillette a lot years ago, before I adopted more serious wet shaving methods. Got it in a razor bundle on E-Bay, and it became one of my top 3 shavers. Because it was so cheap I traveled with it, thinking it could easily be replaced if lost. Loved the long handle and balance. Felt like trying it again using current techniques. It performed surprisingly well, just as I remembered. Anything goes on Funky Friday.

The Everest cream and Svoboda balm are such a powerful menthol combination.

It doesn't get much more old school than that. This razor is a fantastic shaver that can probably run with even the most finely honed straight. I'm BBS and out!

Happy Friday From Florida! Hot Shower Hot Towel Redneck Scuttle Arko Citrus SC Sabi Badger Gillette Tech Treet Blade (1) Cold Water Splash Witch Hazel Florida Water First shave with the Gillette Tech gold colored ball end that I posted in The Haul last night. I also loaded up a Treet blade which I have not used before. Four Passes = BBS! 5 Blades! :happy036 In addition, this is the first day with the redneck scuttle. It works okay, but now I need to get an electric kettle so I can have boiling water. I have my water heater set on 140 but I could not detect any noticeable difference in the lather temperature. Happy Shaving!
Eighth straight DFS with this razor and blade. Schick M3 adjustable with Schick blade. Cremo Cream Omega synthetic brush The Cremo works great once you get over the fact that it isn't supposed to give you a thick cushiony lather. It's a functional slickness which works in its own way.

Fill your scuttle with water and microwave it. I experimented with mine and it takes 3 minutes to get the water to 150F. Works great! Your scuttle may have more or less water capacity and your microwave may be more or less powerful so, you need to experiment to determine the proper amount of time. I love the scuttle for keeping the brush and lather nice and warm.
Hey, Bill! That's my first sighting of Firebar Fred. STUNNING! Where'd you get it? Can it still be ordered? An ab-so-lute-ly gorgeous razor!

SOTD Friday May 7, 2010 Razor: 3/8 EMCO (Henckels) spike point Soap/Mug: Tabac Brush: Medium Badgr ASB: Dickinson's Witch Hazel Aftershave: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue :freezing As promised here is the 3/8 (or 7/16 depending on how you measure it) Barbers razor, AKA the little Vampire! Thought I would use it for the whole shave but, really this is a specialty razor for shaping the upper cheek beard-line. (at least that's what I use it for) It's great for the very tight areas but, it drew blood 4 times with that little spike on my neck. It is definately not the razor to use for your daily shave! Outstanding photos and shave kits shown today Gentlemen! Thanks for sharing!
Bruce, your pics are always well-done, insightful, artistic, thoughtful subject matter placement, and with the current interest in Fatboys, you could probably make a killin' on internet razor porn, with that picture...If you ever do a "fold-out" or "spread" on a Slim, make sure I get a copy... And Bill, same for you as well...always great work.. And Slivovitz, you hit a soft spot in my heart, with my old razor...I lost that razor 30 years ago, where did you find it ?? )
