Good morning. Great shave this morning. I'm still working on my sample of Klar Seifen, it's a superb soap. I have one more razor to spiff up a bit before I put it in rotation, maybe I'll get around to it today. I've been on vacation this week and have spent way too much time looking for straights. I do have my eye on one more, we'll see how it shakes out.

This has been a funny week....I been getting weepers, and just a sore face in general for the first time in...maybe over a couple years....
So today I went back to my Schick, which gives me 'bullet-proof' shaves...

The Cadet/Ikon/Crystal combo is a match made in heaven! An absolutely effortless, efficient and intuitive shaving instrument! The Speick SC is an all time favorite in both performance and scent. (My German roots feel right at home with this SC) The Speick/Copenhagen marriage leaves me bathed in a delightful long lasting scent for most of the day. An exceptional shave this morning for sure! :happy088:

    Today was an interesting shave.

Pre shave: shower, Proraso Pre/Post Cream.
    Brush: Semogue 1305.
    Razor: Schick Krona.
    Blade: Personna Med Prep.
Cream: Palmolive Lathering Cream ( I did some research and this cream is from the 50's!)
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's Rose WH, Juicy Couture Dirty English.

The vintage Palmolive wasn't too shabby. It did what it advertised on the box and lathered up real nice. This might be user error, but I had to reapply cream to my brush for the second pass. But my face feels pretty nice, I wonder what ingredients are in this cream.

Yupp, I sure am - it's an awesome lathermaker and not only that, it gives such a good massage while it works up the lather for me! :D

Going to be traveling tomorrow, so posting early. Travel kit is ready to...

Razor: iKon OC on a vintage two piece travel handle
    Blade: Personna Med Prep
Brush: Custom Rudy Vey Two Band Badger travel brush
    Soap: Speick
    Alum & ice water rinse

the OC is one of the original ikon heads, from the very first design. Destined to be an aggressive shave for sure, but knowing its history makes for a great experience!

Same here, although no wheepers (yet).

Which is why I stuck to a full prep and one of my 'richest' (mildest and most nourishing) shave soaps.

    Musgo Real pre-shave oil
Calani Purissima shave soap, face lathered (as always)
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 brush, Silver Tip Fibre
    Cobra Classic SE
    Feather Professional (4.)
    Bloc Osma alum
    Speick Men after shave

And the face starts already feeling better.

    Happy Thursday to everyone!

    • Prep PSC
    • Proraso Sandalwood SC
    • Frank Best Badger Brush
    • Cadet Razor - Safety Bar
    • Kai Blade (1)
    • Vifrex ASG
    • Barbon ASL
I had to get up at 4:40 this morning so I shaved last night. I wanted to choose a mild razor because I had already shaved in the morning. The Cadet razor combined with the Kai blade ended up being a bit "harsh". For me, the jury is still out on the Kai blades. The Vifrex was nice and soothing and the Barbon is light and non-greasy. So I applied a couple of good splashes aftershave... and went to bed, LOL! Good shave but I really had to be careful to avoid irritating my skin.

For Azarius and jbund... sorry to hear about the cuts. :( Before I started wet shaving I would never have guessed that the biggest cause of bleeding (by far) would be accidental cuts to my non-shaving hand. Now, I always take time to stress this to others who are just starting out.

    Cheers, everyone!

My first time using this Aquabarba cream which I received yesterday, and I'm very satisfied. Very nice minty/soapy scent, awesome lather which is so easy to create, and VERY cooling - easily a Level A on the Cracky Wacky Menthol Scale. I nicked myself on the chin (ouchhh!) but the Anherb conditioner does fantastic repair work. The Alcolado Glacial is also a wonderful freezer. Except for the nick, a really good and enjoyable shave. ;) :D

I haven't shaved all month so I could grow my beard in. I finally trimmed it up when all my goodies came.

Razorock Black Hammer w/ Wilkinson Sword
    Tabac
    Semogue LE Italian Barber 1305
    Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel

For not shaving in so long I was surprised how easily the razor cut through my beard, it's not even the OC. Overall all the new stuff I got performed great. I especially liked Tabac and can't wait until my Semogue is broken in. Happy Turkey day everybody!
