So my Rocket HD arrived a while ago with a little bit of resistance in the tto mechanism and a tiny squeak.

It's been bathed overnight in dish soap and the squeak is gone but the knob does not turn as smoothly as it did... I'm assuming it needs a little oil.

What kinds of oils can be used and what kind of places sell them?

Nice! Thanks very much. I'm assuming can put some around the TTO knob and some down that little hole at the top?

That's what I do. I also add a drop to each pivot point - ie. doors

Thanks it has the tiniest scratch of plating loss which I'm gutted about but otherwise it's immaculate.

I've squirted mineral oil up down and around my razors before and it works great.

Heated Brylcreem will do in a pinch. Ask me how much you need to use. Go ahead, ask.

Okay, I'll bite. How much heated brylcreem do I need to use?

First, Google is wonderful. I now know that Brylcreem is a hair pomade from the UK. Second, how did you find out that heated Brylcreem would work?

I was too lazy to walk to the toolbox to get my little bottle of light machine oil.

Since I now use Groom & Clean, if I use anything at all, my Brylcreem has in fact been recently relegated to the toolbox. It serves fine is a lightweight lubricant, rust protectant, etc.

I love the advert. I told my Wife I needed some Brylcreem. I also saw an advert for SpecSavers this evening.

I find mineral oil to work great. I put a couple drops down the hole.

+1 on mineral oil. Available everywhere (drugstore, super market, convenience store, bodega, etc.)
