Today I started to restore a TR Cadman & Sons "Bengall", Sheffield England razor. I thought I could salvage the horn scales, but alas they were cracked and too far gone. I had a new set of scales I had purchased some time ago (plastic) and decided to change the scales. A first for me on a vintage razor. The blade cleaned up relatively easily. Here is the before picture:

I received some outstanding advice from several individual who were very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks to you all. I am very grateful.

And here is the final product. The non-pivot part of the scales was already pinned and I didn't want to take the chance of ruining the scales...so I have one rosette and one non-rosette. It has a nice weight and balance. I will get this on the stones tomorrow and take it for a test shave...can't wait!
