So 2012 is 25% in the history books. How has it been for you so far? All good, I hope.

Time, yet again, for another Theme Week.

It's TECH WEEK! We start Monday, April 2 and well run for the week, ending Sunday the 8th.

I've noticed a few of you out there have managed to procure a Tech or two the past few weeks. Post pics and let us know how you feel about 'em.

Maybe you have a poor, old Tech you've been neglecting. Dig it out, man! Show it some love!

Techs are known for being very mild. But I've found that paired with the right blade, it gives an excellent shave.

As always it's just for fun. Participate as much or as little as you would like. But let's be real about this, you wouldn't hang around the Den if you didn't enjoy reading about other peoples' gear and technique. Well, the rest of us feel the same way you do, so tell us about your gear and technique. :D

I "PIF'd" my tech to my 16 year old son so he could learn to shave. Might have to un-PIF it from him a time or two for this week.;)

I'm in. I have 3 techs that I've never used, though I'll be PIFing one of them this weekend. The other two will have to do. I think I'll start with my gold one for the first half of the week, and the silver A1 (middle one below) for the second half. Any suggestions for a blade? I prefer Voskhods & Labs in my 38M.

    Pat,

I would think either blade, esp. the V, would do well in the tech. I think most folks would agree the sharper the blade in a tech, the closer the shave.

That's what I'll start with then, thanks.

What timing! I just bought my first de this week and had my first de shave today. And it happened to be a gold ball end tech! Holy mild razor but it was paired with a Gillette platinum blade and though mild gave a good shave with three passes.

Not to mention that next week I am traveling and bringing the tech so I'm not carrying all of my straight gear with me. So I'm kinda forced to participate...

Used a '53 Ball End today paired up with an Astra SP. Three passes and a touch up never felt so good.

I had Personna Super "Lab" loaded and ready to go in my '55 ball end tech for my shave last night. Unfortunately I stayed up to late and decided to shave this morning. Unfortunately, because I stayed up so late, I woke up late and had to skip my shave all together. I guess my first use of this razor will be this evening. I hate missing a shave!

Had planned on doing that but I already had 4 Personnas in my vanity drawer and the V's were all in my stockpile. I'm lazy that way I guess....

I just shaved with a ball end Tech for the first time tonight. Holy crap that handle is small compared to my 38M. So dainty. We'll see if i get used to it this week. The razor is definitely milder than my 38M as well. It was not a problem to use some pressure. That will probably come back to bite me when I go back to the 38M.

I loaded it with a Personna Super "Lab" and used RazoRock XXX (also for the first time) and got a wonderful BBS! I'll enjoy using the Tech this week, but I'll be ready for the 38M when the week is over.

Gave the travel tech a go yesterday and got a really darn good shave. Razor's gotten easier to control now. Gee I hope I'm not starting to like that thing lol...

Great shave with a NDC tech with a voskhod blade. To be honest I am trying out my Tradere handle this week with my tech heads, so it won't be a true 100 percent tech shave for me.

I'm traveling this week so I brought my ball end gold tech with me. But I forgot a brush somehow. Even with hand lathering which was awful I got a nice shave out of it today.

I had just started De shaving a week ago with an old call end Tech and some bigelow cream. I must say it's been a pleasure. I like that razor so much that I bought 2 more from a fella on this forum just to make sure I have a lifetime supply.
