I'm a newbie to the den, but broken in on wet shaving. Two years ago I received a stand, dish, badger brush and shaving soap as a gift. I looked at it a little confused. I knew what it was, I just didn't know if person that gave me the gift knew what year, or even century it was. I'll just put this next to my chamber pot for now, I thought. And went back to my over priced gillette proglide with the stadium lights, stereo and 10 blades. (slight over exaggeration). After a couple of weeks and purchasing an eight blade cartridge for $38 I decided to give the soap and brush a try. The kit didn't come with a razor btw. I liked it, but I thought there was no way I'd ever trade in my razor. Especially since I shave my bean. But eventually my cheap side got the better of me on the blades. I was fraidy scared to shave with one, but was wiling to try. So I went hunting for a DE safety razor. I researched and found the razor I was meant to have. A '59 FB. And an obsession and hobby was born. That's my story. What's yours?
Welcome to the Shaving Den. I started with DE shaving because of the cost of cartridges. Stayed here because of the good conversation. Sent via mobile
Hi from Seoul, nice to meet you. Carts gave me terrible irritation and ingrowns. As time passed by the number of blades increase, the price increased and so did my irritation. Finally I decided to do some research on the web and now I'm irritation and ingrown free.

Well apparently I've made two good decisions in my forty years upon this earth. Wet shaving and joining the Den. Thanks to you all for your warm welcome, and comments. If anybody had told me that someday I'd make shaving and writing on a shaving forum a hobby. I'd say. " I would sooner collect used hankies from former kid stars". But alas here I am and happier for it. Great people, great shaves. Thank you all! My wife just walked in, so I have to say farewell for now. Oh, keep the two good decision thing between us will ya? J/K P.S. If anybody's interested. I obtained Berry William's snot rag. I'll trade ya for a gold Aristocrat
