That is my birth year razor (47), one of my first acquisitions. I did not know what I had at the time. Beginners luck.

I certainly do. Maybe one day I may pop for a gold replate, but I am not sure about that.

Doesn't look like you need one. The plating looks good. The lacquer is the only thing that looks like it's rubbing off.

 

Thank you Billy, followed you advice and the bevel came right together. Will try it later this morning.

 

I wouldn't replate that any time soon, it looks great to me!

 

From what I see on your pictures, I wouldn't re-plate it as it looks fine the way it is.
