Also received a Gillette Monobloc that, refreshingly, looked better in person than it did in photos. I have 4-5 rockets and it was interesting that this monobloc version seems to the smoothest one of them all when opening and closing the doors on it. It went for a surprisingly low price - probably due to it being labelled as a rocket. Here it is surrounded by two other 'rockets' - bonus points for anyone who can name them all
Since I am not in NBJ, I went scouting for deals. I got 4 SR for $40, and a 5th tomorrow for $10. 2 Jr toreyand 2 boker
Luckily I have plenty of other creams and soaps, I just figured "what the hey, it's $5." I squeezed a little of both out and didn't really get much of a scent at all so I'm hoping that it's stronger when it's lathered/applied. Or the caffeine absorbs into my body because science.
I personally like the scent...kind of a faint mint smell (reminds me of every mans jack AS balm)...I have not found something that is better at getting rid of razor burn/irritation/etc. then that AS balm...not a fan of the cream at all (have tried several times), but I cant get it to lather even a little bit.....YMMV...but still, at $5 its worth a shot
I posted in a couple of Facebook groups that I'm in and I've gotten some really mixed reviews so I'm honestly kind of excited to try it in the morning just because it seems like a challenge
So I have had this razor for a while but I got to looking at it tonight and it got me thinking. Anyone know what this is? I really need a better camera but all it has on it is GERMANY
Looks like a three piece razor to me. Probably made in Germany. ...made sometime between 1920 and 1940 is my best guess. During the war years, Zamak (zinc) razors became more common, due to brass shortages, and after the war, razors of that quality were marked W. Germany or West Germany.
This little beauty arrived today my Jurgen Hempel Titanium handle in a blue anodized finish, I purchased in readiness for the eventual arrival of the polished Mongoose.
