Received this neat antique silver plated mug w/ built in mirror from about 1910-1915: A bunch of photos of it here
You and me both...there are 5+ brushes in the 'box of shame' that holds purchases that...didn't turn out so well....
Im lucky my wife has embraced this hobby of mine. She did start the madness though with a wet shaving kit last year as a gift.
Thanks. I was lucky enough to find a beautiful American girl who like fishing and hunting and silly enough to be enticed to move up to the north pole.....
Today I received my, soon to be born, sons birth razor and brush, the EJ DE8911BL (Ball-end smooth handle) and Semogue 1800 boar brush. I have washed and lathered the brush one time and I already think it's gonna be a great brush. There's virtually no boar stench left - good thing Semogue! On the day he's born I'll use this setup along with the Cella soap I also got today. It'll forever remind me of him and when he starts to shave it's his to keep.
Continuing on the Schick theme set by @mrchick I also received two Schick razors in the mail today: 1) A Schick N3 This one is in near mint condition and bought from Gary at shoeboxshavebox. Apart from being great at communication Gary accepted my lower-than-listed price for the razor and threw in some freebies in the box (Speick soap and an Arko ASB I've never seen before). Speaking of things you've never seen before odds are you'll find some on his site (and yes @mrchick even some very nice looking old Pinaud bottles) The razor itself might just have the most comfortable handle I've ever experienced on any injector razor. It's thick, sturdy with a fantastic rubbery feel. 2) A Schick N1 Not quite as mint out of the box but it appears to just need a good cleaning and it will get there The two N's next to each other for comparison: Now, dumb question, can someone link me a photo of how an N2 looks like?
