The Haul: November 2016

I just received this PAA razor in the mail and will give it a go shortly.

 

I've seen it before and I like the way it looks.

 

PAA Switchback 400 Aluminus Brush 24mm waiting for an Envy Supreme White

 

Put these two together for a nice razor/brush combo.

 

Looks like PAA is stepping up their game.

 

New soap from a (for me) new artisan: L&L Grooming. This one with Bison tallow (second only to Bufflehead's duck fat on the exotic scale). Plus a couple of EdT samples, one of which is the basis for P&B Star Noir which was very much to my liking and which led me to *have* to try the original David Bowie fragrance Minotaure.

 

Newly acquired 1906 Single Ring #405699. Before and after the baking soda cleaning process. Works like a charm.

Went by a local Walgreens today and found some Florida Water.

 

Yeah Buddy! That's one crusty razor. Can't wait to see it cleaned up. Ammco? "Like a Gillette Adjustable on 5" I read.

A metal Gillette Contour/Atra handle




And a new (old) straight:


Both need a bit of cleaning and polishing

 

Will be interesting to hear your thoughts on L&L soaps. Some of their scent descriptions sound pretty intriguing to me.

And btw.: Star Noir is a fantastic soap, isn't it?

Just posted my SOTD in fact. If you didn't like Roam, chances are you won't like this one either, though it does lean more toward the sweet/spicy. Ever tried MLS Unforgiven? Take that and add some spice and a dash of tar/smoke, and you more or less have Darkfall.

Star Noir: Indeed it is! I absolutely adore it. Only drawback for me is the softness of the soap, unlike the other P&Bs I have tried.
