Here's the thread on mine: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/shave-related-printing-plate-with-durham-duplex.45648/
Over the weekend I was helping a friend clean out his parents house and we came across this '41 Milord. My friend had no interest in the razor so he graciously gave it to me.
I am impressed so far with my new Tuxedo knot from APShaveCo. Photos can't tell you how soft it feels. Got it setting in my B-400 thinking about loft.
Got some Mamabear Soap today. Two bath bars in addition to the shave stuff below. Lavender Oakmoss puck, sample slivers of Hydrogen and Lilly of the Valley, and a small puck of Awakenings. I ordered the puck by mistake, instead of the tub. I may need to make another order to get a tub. All of these smell amazing. They are a glycerin hot process soap base that I have heard d is amazing. Can't wait to try.
This beautiful, vintage Rotbart DE with the more unusual base plate arrived from Europe today. It's in great condition and should be really interesting to shave with. Note: I assume that this razor was made after Gillette bought Otto Roth Inc, in the 1920s. Since there is no DRGM stamp on it I'm tempted to date it post-1945 - maybe around 1950?
'46-'47 Gillette Aristocrat got it's clean up and first use by me. For a 70 year old razor it does it's job well. Tom @twhite told me it was user grade before our trade. Not to worry as all my gear is for use. The loss of gold on the cap didn't stop me from enjoying a FatBoy like experience. While this Aristocrat is 1/4" shorter than a #195 I think it might weigh more. The knurling on the handle looks identical. It's a beaut and a permanent member of my den!
I received the Turkish copper shaving mug I'd ordered last month. Used it today. It works well, though I honestly don't believe the rougher surface makes much of a difference while making lather. It does look nice, and is light and won't break if dropped. It also came with Polsilver and Shark DE blades, which I'll put to use at some point.
My 2 oz. cobalt blue glass bottles arrived today. Now I have to make up labels for what I'll be putting in them.
Totally Stoked Trade I got these in a trade with @RyX. It has officially begun. My liquidation of my DE razors. I am falling down another hole. I can't be more excited. First up is Columbia Cutlery 6/8 1/2 hollow Next is an A J Jordan 5/8 1/4 hollow Next an Eagle Cutlery no country of manufacture. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. 5/8+ 1/4 hollow And lastly the super rare Gold Dollar 66 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
