I had picked up a bottle of Brisk but forgot which store stocked it. Visited three Family Dollar store before I tried a Dollar General. FD has a couple different Barbasol shave creams, but no AS.
Found this in a lot recently. It's a stropper for vintage SE blades that I've never seen before. After cleaning it I found it opens to make it easier to load the blades. Very cool. It looks like it could be used as a faux Kamisori. After seeing the various popsicle stick DE shavers this looks pretty solid. Maybe during this SEptember. Happy shaving - Karl
Oops - I forgot to mention the lot included a pocket sized Carborundum honing stone. Looks like I can both hone and strop old vintage blades with this. At least, you can bet I will try it to see how that works. Edit: If anyone knows anything about the grit equivalent of these Carborundums, please let me know - this one is a 149 but I haven't been able to come up with anything in my searches. Happy shaving - Karl
Well I actually got this 1921 Combination Set last month before I went to be with my dad. I finally got around to capturing before and after pics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Jorge...there is some plate loss on the razor cap and one slightly bent outer tooth but I didn't pay a lot for it. I am sure she will shave just fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It is in pretty good condition so I used a slightly damp dryel sheet and a dabbed in a small spot a to see if it would damage it, no damage so I did the rest by just pressing and releasing. I didn't rub at all. It was risky as I could have destroyed it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
