You make a very good point! How's the strength of the menthol? On par with MITA? Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
Gotcha. I thought you meant you were about to send in an order now. I am sure it will show up again. It is definitely a favorite.
I have not tried it so I can't comment. The site says it has just a touch of menthol. I'd contact Rod and ask if he'd make one for you with a glacial level, never hurts to ask.
Even though im new to the scene im slowly in the process of making my den Stirling only. I love the scents and performance. Plus the price cant be beat in my opinion.
Dang is there any you didnt order...... lol...... you should have picked up piacenza if you havent you should...
Quick question............ Im picking up some Chisled face Cryogen in a trade. How does the level of menthol compare to the level of the glacial soaps rod puts out..... That is if anyone has tried both and can compare....... Thanks!!!
I have RazoRock XXX and Son of Zeus, which are the same scents and Piacenza and Arkadia. And I have a full tub of Executive Man. I don't really like piney / woodsey scents so I left those out. and the others just didn't draw my attention.
I find the Cryogen to be very similar in comparison to the Glacials, maybe even a little colder. I did not care for it though. The scent was pretty much just straight up menthol; was like shaving with mentholatum, and the lather didn't seem to hold up nearly as well. That was a couple of years ago, so it is as memory serves. I don't find Chiseled Face lather holds up nearly as well as Stirling in general, if you mix it slick, so it could just be that too.
My assessment is that the Cryogen is perhaps just very slightly colder than the first year's Glacial soaps. Since then Rod's formula and manufacturing process have been changed. The original Glacials were not easy to lather but now they're among the easiest lather-makers I've ever seen. Also, their scents are beautiful and in addition to their menthol madness their skincare is absolutely perfect. The Cryogen to me was capricious at lathering and sort of lacking in skincare not to mention that it has no definitive scent.
Glastonbury is coming out in mutton formula? Any idea what other scents in mutton. I've never tried it and am looking forward to the new scents.
Port-au-Prince is coming out again, but in mutton form? That was a scent that had to grow in me a bit, but do I like it now.
