Okay my fellow Denizens, what floats your boat? Finding a vintage razor in the wild? Or shooting fish in the barrel on the Interwebs? The three above razors were fleamarket finds. Top to bottom: 1952 2Q Super Speed Black Tip, 1971 Super Adjustable 109, NEW Short Comb circa 1932-1940. Total cost $16.
I have a mix of both. I think it is more exciting to hunt one in the wild then behind the high fence. That being said I hunt in the fence plenty.
I hunt, I get many asking at yard sales. Most say they didn't think to put them out. Last week a fellow at a sale heard me ask, he said, "I live two blocks away, I have one I'll give you". I followed him home and he gave me an injector. I asked to pay him, he wouldn't have it. So I was blessed with a Schick injector. I think it's a type N or M. I haven't explored this kind of razor, so I'm not real sure what it is.
I prefer the hunt and have only bought 2 razors from the barrel. I've sold my fair share online though
I have yet to find anything in the wild. Firstly I live in an area that is a highly attractive area for tourists. Flea markets and antique shops ask 4x what the items are worth. And frankly, I don't do yard/garage sales. Kinda like my disdain for waiting in line for a meal.. EBay has worked out well for me and my lifestyle
I really enjoy hunting local shops, unfortunately being new and only interested in DE I'm passing up on a lot. In a very short period of time I have had great success hunting razros in the wild to the point I genuinely was willing to keep my eyes open for others. I have seen TONS of straight and single edge razors and already a handful of double edge. So far I have already scored these... and thats in just a week. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
As it's a couple of months+ before I can put stuff in the sales thread here, I have a question. What sort of stuff is best to sell to others here, vs sell on E-Bay?
