That's encouraging! On what date did you place your order?

 

10/31/16. I did get an 8 x 2 ZG. I don't know if Mr Cramer ran out of all hones last month, or just the 8 x 2 size. He didn't specify which in his email response to my inquiry. I am glad he finally got mine ready. Hopefully, he is starting to catch up with the orders.

 

I'm going to say that the Torrey you honed for me that was finished on the Zulu is one sweet shaver. I'm a fair rookie but it certainly works well.

 

I'm going to try this with my Welsh slate. I have had a hard time making slurry.

 

It is a good method for most naturals.

 

Let us know how it works.

 

after trying only water and a thin slurry i dont think i feel much different between them.but what i found out is that it needs about the same time ore strokes as an black ark to get the very nice zulu edge.refreshed a kropp yesterday. used a 8 and 12k shapton pro and finished on the zg. today it gave me the best shave it ever has provided. think i am starting to love this stone. maby i am marrying it

 

My tracking number just went active. Processed through the post in South Africa. Hopefully there is a large batch of hones being shipped.

 

You have something grait to look forvard to.be prepared to do alot of re honing

 

I've got a rescale and a stock restore to finish, then let the honing begin.

 

My tracking just updated on my Zulu. Processed through customs in New York. Time to see how many get delivered in the next week.

 

@Redfisher , I get the email notification on your post, but it's not showing on the thread for me. I ordered a 8 x 2 on 10/31. It's been a long time coming!

 

Received my new Zulu Monday. Very well packaged, and the stone was prepped very well. Took a 5/8 Ralf Aust back to my 12k SS, then about 50 water only laps on the Zulu. The bevel looked great. The shave told the real story. Very sharp, and very smooth. This was the best shave I have gotten out of this razor in a while. Still, more use is required before I start passing judgment on this stone. So far though, it appears to be a very promising hone.

 

You won't be disapponted.this is an awasome stone.

Amazing, mine arrived Monday too. We have the lunar holiday starting tomorrow so I will give a try this weekend.
