So it may be a French clone?

Nah, that's got real crosshatch knurling, pretty good actually.

I have a similar handle, but closer to the actual NEW common bar (slim). The main difference between the clones (yours and mine) and the Gillette is in the length of the screw section - the taper is significantly longer than any of the Gillette tapers. (Just forgot the proper terminology)

I can't say mission complete because I don't have a Make or Model, but I might have found a complete razor.

Hmmm....Not even close . Bands are indented vs smooth, neck much longer.

Same. Mine is just more worn... It really is... Same neck too.

@Rev579: Much to my surprise I found this while at an antique shop. There was no manufacturer on the cap but the handle is definitely the same make as yours. I can only assume that the head is the type that was originally on the on you acquired. The tag says Hair Stylist Razor and it is quite happy in the case where I found it in a jumble.

Edit: somehow I missed your complete razor post. Oh Well

Oh look, its the Jumble I was talking about. There was nothing really special or worth buying in the pile.

That is a jumbled mess, or perhaps a jumbled jungle. But, you need to know, the handle really isn't bad at all. I like it. It is a nice, in-between sized handle. On a similar note, I was in a shop where the "owner/expert" called the open comb a "groomer". I didn't argue with him as he did his best to convince
1.) He knew his stuff about razors, and
2.) The comb was for "grooming side-burns, beards, and mustaches" and lather pass-through was more of a secondary purpose.
He also tried to tell me that his 2 Rolls Razors were assembled correctly: One with 2 Leather strops(a primary and a back-up); One with 2 Honing Stones(one is finer than the other).
And, if he didn't know his stuff, there was no way he would be a "Power Seller" on eBay.

Your right, but I never found them to as nice of a shave as a Tech, Flare or 40's Super Speed; just my opinion. :)

Ehhh, Stahly's are like flair tips, cool at first but once you get three or four, the magic is gone.
