Hi fellas. Have you seen an Ever Ready like the one in this set before? It's not mine but I wondered if they were made, with the etched pattern on the razor, by Ever Ready and whether it might be a 1912/24. I've never seen this before.

Not common but certainly not unknown , from what I've read they're British 1912 variants from the 50s. Sure are handsome.

Never seen that deco sunburst pattern before. Goes well with the chain link handle.

1912, I can't remember what folks call them.

    Not mine.

Been here for years and I've never seen that one before. Gorgeous...looks like something the Incas would have invented.

That's a much better picture. The handle is very different to the usual 1912 handle. This has got to be from the 1930's. I wonder if they were made for a special occasion (limited edition).

I love my British made 1912 with the same handle, but not that head. Thanks for sharing this, that's beautiful razor!

Yes, as previously mentioned, a 1912 variant known as the Sun Ray. I’ve seen it referred to also as the Goddess or Egyptian Goddess although these are personalized names given by their owners. ;) It doesn’t shave any better or worse than other 1912s but how can you not chase this one once you’ve seen it? :happy093:

Door is flat, of necessity for the stamping/engraving?

    Yes, flat it is. :happy088:

If they were stamped, that would have been done while it was still flat sheet, before being bent into razor shape. We know this because there are known examples where the cutter wasn't indexed properly, which leaves the lettering way off-center, even running off the edge.

I've only ever seen them called sun ray razors...but I don't know if that is a "forum" name (like the Gillette Fatboy which is properly called the "Gillette 195 adjustable") or something the manufacturer called them.

I think the actual name is chromium strop outfit. I have never seen "Sun Ray"on anything from ER.
