VDHD is a great performing soap and I really like that it can be found locally. It took me a while to get used to the scent though.
I was gonna try this soap, and all the others in the VDH family, but was disappointed to see SLS in the ingredients (all VDH soaps have it). I'm avoiding SLS in my hygiene products like I'm avoiding high fructose corn syrup in my food.
Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap has always worked very well for me, SLS notwithstanding. As well as soaps costing over seven times as much, in fact. At $2, it is an outstanding bargain for a top notch soap. Best of all, it is sold by many brick and mortar drugstores.
