Here you go. They are awesome knots. https://www.etsy.com/listing/452188...ch_query=tuxedo shaving knot&ref=sr_gallery_2
I've figured out I like this shape of handle. Left Omega Pro #10098 boar. Center by Tom @twhite B-400 with a Tuxedo synthetic knot. Right by Jim @Jayaruh JR#130 in Louisiana Cypress with a Maggard's synthetic. Below the B-400 with ferrules off. Tuxedo on the left. The right is a Whipped Dog High Mountain badger I received from Clint @clint64. I have another ferrule for the B-400 handle that will be fitted with a fan shaped boar knot similar to the NOS Rubberset 400. Franks @Fly2High questions; Is it a fan, bulb or a hybrid loft? No particular preference, except for that boar fan to complete my B-400. Are you a cream, soft soap or hard soap user? Yes, all three. Do you lather in a bowl/scuttle, on your hand or your face? 95% of my lathers are made in a suribachi bowl. What type of hair is in it,badger (pure, best, fine, silvertip ,etc.), boar, synthetic or what? I'm an Equal Opportunity Latherer, each has it's strengths. Is the brush soft or firm? Is it a good exfoliator or does it message gently? See previous answer. Boar is broken in but still scrubby, Synthetics are so soft I only feel the lather, Badger is scritchily good. Is it new or vintage? All less that two years old. What makes this your favorite? Boar works well on harder soaps. Badger tends to be used for creams. Synthetics either way.
I wish I saw this thread yesterday. My favorite is my Semogue 820 boar. It has the right amount of backbone to whip up a fantastic lather and has a soft enough feel on my face. It's my winner!
Last Focus shave for Feather, followed by another fun-filled day in the world of corporate security. However the weekend is nigh, so TGIF!
Omega Pro 49, easily. I've gone through nearly a dozen different styles and sizes and always find myself coming back to my well broken in Omega Pro. This thing is a literal paintbrush and can hold enough lather 5 with enough to wash your face off with. I'm a face latherer and love the big brush and coverage it gives with ease. I've actually streamlined my collection to just one Omega Pro, a back up Pro, and a possible synthetic version in the future.
Hard to say, I had @GDCarrington redo my grandfathers Rubberset , finish, weighted, reknot with a custom two band finest. I have maybe the first @Jayaruh and brothers bristles (@Tdmsu ) ever sold. Both of which I still use. A whipped dog thats been with me a few years. Some I traded with @JR Reyes for. A Rubberset 400, found in the wild, and was graciously rebuilt by @clint64 . An @oscar11 , hope Steve's doing well. A @Ceferguson , hand carved from natural wood, set with a golden nib 28mm silvertip. An olivewood tsd group buy, that Gary (@GDCarrington)finished, weighted, and set the knot in. All of these are special to me, mostly cuz they are from my friends here at the shave den.
