What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

I had a chance to use my Genco vanadium razor this morning. I did three passes and ended up with a very comfortable and almost BBS shave. This razor is still holding a fine edge since I last honed it. Probably 10 shaves and 25 passes in total.

Tonight's shave was with another covered tang razor, that I just restored and honed. I just couldn't get the corrosion out of the center, without compromising the razor. This is a very nice, sharp, and well balanced razor to shave with. I has a fantastic 2 pass shave, with BBS results. Zero issues. I recommend one of these is you find one for sale. Straight as an arrow, and easy to hone.

The Col Conk Bay Rum Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #2 badger brush. I did two passes with the H. Böker 5/8, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave with no nicks, cuts, or abrasions. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Next up in the rotation was my Genco Red Cross razor. It was a smooth and comfortable three pass shave and I'm nearly BBS!
