Tonight's shave was with one of my favorite Rescue Razors(Scales broken, and blade rusted). This razor is a very very nice shaving one. It gave an ultra sharp and ultra smooth 2 pass shave, with no issues. If I saw another one of these for sale, for a decent price, I wouldn't hesitate to bid on it.

Vintage stubby from Wm Greaves & Sons. What the razor lacks in tail size, it compensates with a long, heavy blade that takes a scary edge from toe to heel...

Today's shave was with one of the thinnest, and sharpest blades I own. I had a very smooth 2 pass, noisy shave. This left me BBS with zero issues. Excellent Razor.

Inoue Tasuke Kamisori 6:8 AOS MNSHL TH AOS.jpg Well, that was a frustrating shave. Second time out with my kamisori and I decided not to contort myself in order to keep the stamp (Omote) side facing out. However, I couldn't get as close a shave as I'd like. Even after 4 passes I ended up with a DFS. I may have to give it a serious refresh. I'm wondering if I damaged the edge somehow. :signs002:

Did you put an "Asymmetrical"(Kamisori) edge on the b made, or a "Western" edge on it??

The reason I was asking is that I have several Kamisori razors, and only really enjoyed shaving with them when I honed them "Western" style. I could get them just as sharp Kamisori style, but it just wasn't as comfortable.

It was a NOS blade when I got it and @gssixgun did his usual magic. It was/is an asymmetrical grind. I have to spend more time with it I'm sure but I also suspect I damaged the edge somewhere along the way - it just doesn't have that "sticky" sharp edge on my thumb. It also doesn't catch the hairs on my arms very easily. :(

Glen Mercurio, ggsixgun, told me you had to refresh the edge more often than other blades. I messed mine by going to 1K to try and "rehone". I think Glen starts at 8K, but I could be wrong. Maybe just a 12K or 20K finish. I think the steel is softer than the typical blade. I loved the shave but gave up after I had difficulty keeping the edge the way I liked it. I think you have to get used to a different way of shaving. The angle on the traditional cutting side is practically flat to your face. Good luck with it. I could almost get a BBS with one pass.
