I believe this is what some refer to as: "Razor Porn".

I wasbidding on a set almost identical. One had a broken scale easy repair. Missed the winning bid, so no what am I waiting on post here. Some one ended up with a great deal though. Screenshot_20180116-144316.png

Today's shave was with a Chinese razor. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. This is an "Extra Hollow Ground" blade, and made of very nice steel. The Chinese are kicking Butt with their newly produced blades. I've used this razor 5-6 times, and it's holding a very keen edge. When I got it, it was very sharp, from the factory, and needed a little stropping on the pasted linen and the leather strop, and it was truly "Shave Ready". Excellent Straight Razor, for around $28 delivered. But, this isn't for the "Newbies". That Spike Point is something to be respected and feared. It can be useful in reaching the hard to get to areas, under the nose though.

Razor- Gold Dollar W59. Extra Hollow Ground.

I took my big Napoleon back to the Thuri to see what a few more minutes would do. Yup, smoother and sharper. I think it could still use a few minutes more so you may be seeing this one again soon. :happy036:

Thanks, Tom. I don’t know who manufactured these, but this razor shaves almost identical to my FW Engles. When I compared blades they were very similar.

Keith, is this the 5/8 or 6/8? I am guessing 6/8.

Though I was cautioned against it by the doc my Frederick Reynolds 6/8 Was calling to get some use and I gladly complied. I absolutely love the razor. Granted I dont have a ton of straights to compare this too its seemingly a great shave every time out. It's continuing to maintain its edge which given the fact this noob is behind the wheel is saying something.

Needless to say I will continue to seek out Sheffield and FR blades in the future.

BTW I used Stirling dirty south for the shave which myself and my wife continue to enjoy!

An old girl with new dancing shoes...
    Razor: Bengall
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft Bruce
    Soap: Razorock MF
    A/S: B&M Reserve Cool
Pretty sure she had a regrind at some point and she does taper down at the toe, but she asked for a new pair of shoes... and she can sure dance.
