I was just curious if anyone knew what model of Gillette this is? It's listed as being from 1909 and it's being sold for $19.

GIllette old type. But I don’t believe it’s original to that case. The original one would have a different razor

I'm just guessing. It looks like an Old Type OC in a Single Ring case. 1920"s........

Even it being a mismatched set, well worth the price............

    I don't think that's a Gillette razor.

I believe the whole razor is a mix and I probably wouldn't purchase it. The box doesn't go with the razor with the handle which is not a big deal. That said looking at the pieces of the razor and how they go together; the handle isn't design for that base plate, due to the center hole is far too large and it will not properly tighten. I think the baseplate came from a Standard Single Ring that came apart. Feel free to do as you wish, but I'd walk away from the sale. :scared007:

It's a clone of a ball end OLD type.

Thanks guys. I was just researching vintage Gillettes to see what they looked like. A forum member here is actually sending me my first ever DE razer. The Merkur 34c! Once i learn the ropes of Wet Shaving, i want to eventually get the oldest Gillette i can find and have it re-plated to mint condition.

Single rings are not hard to find at a reasonable price, but more importantly is if you'd enjoy the shave with one; they all shave a little different. A pre war Tech is a great shave and easy to find.
