I've heard that from guys I've met over the years. That's pretty wild.

I was gone so much of the time - she had to essentially take care of everything dealing with home and family. I always said - I took care of the big problems: Russia, the Middle East, China, et cetera. She took care of the little problems: the mortgage, paying the bills, running the house, et cetera. Its still pretty much that way.

Thanks to my wife. I came up with the idea and recipe but it was her artistry in the pan.

    Pulled pork begets carnitas tacos.

Just returned from a local Wine Makers Dinner. During the winter months one of our local restaurants holds a monthly winemakers dinner. Tonight was a Tour d'Italy. Absolutely excellent. Wine was great - food was great! A very civilized event. The stains on the menu are - of course - wine. They served a lot of wine. I even added an extra shave this afternoon. I normally don't shave on Tuesday but for this occasion- I did.

BBQ Goat. Home style, smoked as if pork shoulder. Western KY at it's finest.

The steak dish was really good. I need to get some porcini dust. The chef said you can get it on amazon and apply it like you would salt and pepper. I'm going to try it.

I have made orange dust from a recipe. It requires a simple syrup, thin peeled orange rinds, and lightly coat baking pan in grapeseed oil. bake , let dry, and put in a spice/coffee grinder. Nice on fish. Perhaps it may work with mushrooms. :)

Sounds good, but in small doses. Dried Mushroom is potent and could take over easily.

I am curious now. I have chanterelle mushrooms, maybe I will give it a go. :)

Put it in a zip lock (partially closed), squeeze out the air), and slap with pan?

Sounds great ! Although it puts me in gastro-intestinal distress by the copious amounts of methane it makes my body produce ! Still like it though ! :)

I have just discovered some dried mushrooms from Trader Joe's. That might be easier to experiment with !

Should work great. I bet you could waste a coffee grinder instantly, but if earthy coffee is your thing....
