So, when you shave, where do you start your shave? This post was inspired by an offsite thread I saw today on the Adequate Man sub-forum of Deadspin; https://adequateman.deadspin.com/where-do-you-start-shaving-your-face-first-1819609892 I start my shave at the sideburn area, just below my "temples" as the nomenclature is named from https://www.readers.com/blog/glasses/eyeglass-frame-diagram/ Then I continue on with my shave, but I do find myself agreeing with the shave experience of the response of Drew Magary... What say y'all? I have always started at the temples, but I do not know why/when/who... What about you?
I don't really know how or why I developed the routine I have, but it hasn't changed much over the past few years. It only takes a few minutes and yields good results. Pass 1 - I always start at the base of my neck in the center and go up to the jawline. Then I start at my side burn and work towards the center and finish with under the nose. Pass 2 - I start at the jawline near the ear and do a south to north and work towards the center. From there, I go N to S on the neck then finish with the mustache area.
For me it starts at the jawline and proceeds down the neck on my right side. Why? I don't know. I started that when I was a teenager and have not bothered to change the routine.
Base of my neck, usually on the driver’s side. Once in a while I’ll start at the sideburn but not very often.
I have been doing one pass S to N for a little while now so I start at the base of my neck on my right side. Cool discussion Jeffro.
With a straight I start high on my right cheekbone.... with a DE or SE I start high on my left cheekbone.
I start South to North on my neck. My neck hair mostly grows from the center towards my ears so it is more of a XTG pass. Same with the second pass (N-S) on the neck. A few years ago I tried both WTG and ATG passes from Center to Ears and vice versa. It was really awkward so I stick with this. More than 2 passes total and I start to get some irritation.
