That's why I want to learn while using a DE, I'm just too pretty to bleed . Plus, I'm hoping it will help when I finally join the darkside

It's pretty easy, I do it all the time...if you think too much it becomes unnatural. Just stay in the zone and do it. :)

Yep, and the bigger the bait the more shark steaks to grill up in the end!

"Zone out and do it" is great advice, Robert!

How is the lavender scent? Lavender is one of my faves.

    March into Artist Club Blades

    March 23

    Razor - Feather SS
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Soap - Proraso
Post - Cold water, Alum, Nivea

Ok, I'm officially bored with the Proraso but at least it produces a great lather. I really shouldn't say I'm bored, but I do prefer MWF and Tabac. Still, for a soap to get me through packing and moving, Proraso is doing a great job. Maybe I just need to add the Sandlewood to my collection for a bit of variety. I've actually never tried any Proraso other than the Green. Probably time.

Anyway, on to the important stuff. The blade. Day three on the Dorco. Day one was surprisingly good. Day two a bit of a concern with a noticeable loss in smoothness. Day three......pretty much a repeat of day two. Still not as smooth as day one but not noticeably worse than yesterday either. And, the irritation level was a bit less today based on the alum. So, probably more about how I mishandled it with my left hand yesterday. The blade is not going to feel, for me at least, as smooth as a Kai Mild over several days, but if it stays at its current level a few more days I'd have to say it has the longevity to go the distance. Still surprising given the fact we all expected massive failure with this blade.

On the moving front....three days to load and go time. It looks like internet may not follow exactly on time so there may be a few days when I go silent. Hopefully not for long but you know cable companies. I hate to complain too loudly though lest they send out their enforcer.

    Wednesday Shave

    Cold water
    In Shower Prep- Noxzema
    Pso-Homemade mint oil
    Brush- RazoRock Plissoft
    Razor-Gillette Slim on 5
    Blade- Astra SP (2)
    Soap- Kiss my Face mint
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB- Pinaud "Veg"

I love this razor! Three passes for a BBS shave. The Kiss my Face lathers like a dream, the Astra was smooth but cut close, very little irritation tonight. What little I had was cooled off by the Thayers. I finished with the "Veg".

There was a problem with a small nick on my upper lip when using my left hand. This is going to take some work learning to use it because it feels like someone else is controlling it. I'm going to keep with it though because I want a cookie.

On a sad note this will be my last use of the "Veg" tonight. My wife is off her pain pills from her surgery and she is not a fan. I am not Chosen after all, she was just heavily medicated

No shave tonight. I'm letting the cut on my neck heal up so its easier to shave daily after I start my new job.

We ended up getting to the Doctor today and getting my Fiancee the letter giving her permission for an Emotional Support Animal and the Doc talked her into a larger dog so we will be going to pick up Ivy tomorrow early afternoon. Ivy(the dog) is a lab/ american bulldog mix. The local shelter was closed today and they only open between noon and 5 every day they do open which is why we don't already have her. Here is a picture since I know a lot of you can appreciate a good looking dog. I feel bad not getting the Feist but maybe in a few weeks we can go pick her up too. We will also be moving out of the apartments because the landlord doesn't want a bigger dog here. She gave us the option to move into a house or trailer within the county and stay in the HUD program to reduce the problems we may face with the dog in the apartment and we accepted. The paperwork switch takes 60 days and then we have 30 more to find a place to move after that. The kids are excited about the dog and the yard that would give us. It also means we can have pets and not worry about it as much.

    Two really good things here:

    1. The Veg. We know that you are chosen. You decided that. Happy wife, happy life. We understand.

    2. The ambidextrous thing, it's worth developing for reasons beyond shaving. Very cool.

    Cookie.

I'd say... Stay away from Dorco kitchen knives. Interesting take on the blade. You earned that avatar like the Moscow boss that you are.

New house, new season! Hope all goes smoothly, and good fortune in the new home! You will need to update your address on file with the Darkside Bakery.

    Kerry-

You're so right about a six. Overdone lavender can be almost sickening. I am using a Dr Bonner Hemp Bath bar that is lavender, and only moderately scented as well.

@RaZorBurn123 and @Bama Samurai Kerry I agree the MW Lavender smells fantastic. It has a pure straight forward lavender scent that is not overdone.

Ikon B1 OC with Triad SS
    Feather (3)
    BSB-2 with Vie-Long 2 Band
    Haslinger Sandalwood
    Witch Hazel
    Myrsol F/Extra
    Whipped Shea Butter

Decided to use Haslinger Sandalwood for this morning's shave. I received the soap as a gift with another purchase and have only used it a couple of times. The Haslinger was very easy to lather and proved to be very slick with a very good post shave feel. Even though the soap is labeled Sandalwood the scent is so light it seems to be almost unscented. Another drama free near BBS 2 pass work morning shave. I really enjoy OC razors in general and this Ikon in particular. I am glad I got this head when Ikon was running a sale. I finished off with a splash of Myrsol F/Extra. The classic scent and skincare of this AS are top notch. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
