Awaiting the arrival of this unique 7/8" carbon steel razor made in Sheffield in the first half of the 19th century. Marshes & Shepherd. In need of some minor restoration….
I met the owner and creator of these brushes at the KC Wetshaver's meet up a few weeks ago. He just got his website up and going this week. Beautiful brush!
I just ordered a Semogue 830 boar brush after receiving, using, and really liking the 620. These two similar but different brushes will be my main two brushes, used on alternate days allowing for full dry time.
I'm waiting on 2pm to arrive, so I can crawl out of this hole I work it. Then, make it home in one piece and find my Maggard's knot & Aristocrat in the mail box.
I do love it when poor photography keeps the price of an item down. Received it today and thought you guys might like to see how it actually looks before cleaning.
I just pressed the button on this Shave Ready Friedrick Herder 6/8th Made in Solingen Germany in the Late 1800 s..This Company has an interesting History in that they were making Battle Swords During the 30 Year Reformation War In Europe ..I have hears it said that these Old Herders take a Keen Edge & just Couldn't resist this Beautiful Piece of German Steel..I got it from a Reputable EBay Seller in Sweden at what I think was a Reasonable Price..This Seller has some Stonkin SRs Billy..
Y Yep. The seller noted that is had a copper colored bit on the end of the handle, and assumed it had lost it's plating in that spot. Turns out that spot was just a build up of lacquer where it dripped off the razor. I'm going to leave that spot alone. It's as close to mint as I've ever seen. I would call it NOS, but it didn't come with the five blade packet. A situation I hope to rectify soon.
Wow what a find. Congrats again. It's good to know you finally found a razor you REALLY wanted in the condition you wanted.
Thanks, and I'll be shaving with it after dinner. I've heard these were really mild, but I'm hoping that it's more like a super speed than a tech.
I didn't think it was mild. I have a tech and it's definitely not like that. I would say if we had a scale like hot sauce... It would be medium not mild not hot but medium.. But I'm not experienced like you . Have fun !!
Yep. I put a Feather in it and had as nice a shave as I've ever had. Bought this to make it a complete set. It's actually pretty tough to find five pack blades. Most of them are 20 pack blades. This set is a five pack, still wrapped in cellophane.
Decided the new Razor needed a companion shave mug: Also 100 Polsilvers should be here in 2ish weeks.
I pressed the button on this NOS Japanese Fuji 6/8th Straight Razor this Morning..The Seller is going send me it over shave ready included in the price as this is sitting the way it left Factory..I sold off a few of my SEs to get this..Happy Easter.. Wetting my Pants.. Billy..
