I forgot just how much I like the Old Type OC razor. I loaded a GSB and got a very nice BBS this morning. Big Shave Soap Wolf Whiskers Brush Vibro-Shaver Gillette Silver Blue (1) Lucky Tiger Big Shave Splash AS Have fun!
Wednesday Razor: PAA Open Comb Slant Blade: Gillette Spoiler Brush: Razorock Bruce Lather: Viking Opium Den Vegan Formula Post: Osage Rub
Razor: Timeless OC w/TRH2 Pineapple Design Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3) Brush: Elite Razor Tres Amigo Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Envy White Soap: Route 66 Twisted Tweed Aftershave: Fine Platinum Amazing shave today with the Timeless Scalloped Cap, Open Comb Base Plate. The TRH2 Pineapple Handle at 100 grams is one of if not my favorite handles. This combination is just fun to use. This shave wasn't a dolphin smooth shave, but an Orca smooth (@Boojum1) shave as it was that powerful.
The Timeless OC was today's choice. Second shave on a Feather blade, much smoother than the first. The Feather blades seem rough on the first use, I've read posts by others that say the same thing. Anyway 2 passes left me feeling clean and smooth. So far the Timeless has been great with every blade I throw at it!
TabOCtober 5 SOTD: Razor: 1920's Gillette OLD Type Blade: Rapira Super Stainless (1) Brush: Omega 10777 boar Lather: Tabac AS: British Sterling Tried out a new blade in one of my OLD Types. The blade was definitely sharp, but not as smooth as an Astra SP or a GSB. It was a great shave overall. Was that the red and blue Rapira or the black, blue, and pink? To me there is a difference with the pink one being the better. Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk

Ah yes, the chromes. I was not a fan of those. But these worked much better for me Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk

Shave for Wednesday OCtober 5, 2016 Gem de Luxe Pal Super blued carbon steel blade (1) Whipped Dog synthetic brush Chiseled Face Groomatorium Sherlock soap & aftershave The Gem de Luxe was the very first Gem razor to use the classic 1912 design. Introduced in 1911, it does not have the 1912 patent marking, but simply "PAT" which I assume stands for Patent Pending. Nonetheless, it is unmistakably a 1912. This set sold for $3.50 in 1911, around $80 in today's currency, so it was a high end item, possibly popular as a gift. It is a surprisingly smooth shaver, less aggressive than the later 1912's. I like the carbon steel blades in these early razors, even though they have to be removed from the razor and dried immediately after shaving. Today's shave was super smooth. The Gem de Luxe is not overly mild, but after using wedge blade razors for the last several days it felt like a pussycat. It made for a most pleasant effortless shave, close to BBS all over. --Bob
