1. The Tuxedo Extra Dense Synthetic Shaving Brush Knot caught my eye when JR @JR Reyes posted his thread about the Skunkworks Brush Project. Not long after I saw Jim (?) @mrchick had set his in one of Tom's @twhite B-400 aluminum handles. I ordered mine shortly there after. Now I see @Marverel has his set in a handle.
In order to share the experience, I invite y'all to post a photo here. It's all about Enabling others to see these unique brush knots. If I missed any current Tuxedo owners, please join in!

  5. Its a great knot for the lemon juicer handle. Compliments it very well.
  6. It's the shave brush handle from the year 2000!
Assuming you were in the 1950's look forward,
    rather than now reminiscing.

First and certainly not my last lather with the Tuxedo knot. It's buried in that pile O' suds. Can't wait to try it with others soaps.

    I must admit that contributing factors include;
    • B-400 handle
    • A suribachi bowl
    • Relatively soft water
    • & Arko soap
The tips of the bristles are so soft all I could feel was the lather.
I'm not saying everyone should get one of these Tuxedo knots.
These are only for those that deserve one.

  9. That one was 25 brushes ago? I don't know how I missed it Jim.
What did you think about it? How does it compare to other synthetics?

  10. I think it is the best of all my synthetics, and it has great looks, too. The only one I haven't tried yet is the Game Changer.

I agree with you - this might be the best synthetic knot on the market today. Fantastic latherer, incredibly soft.

  12. Yes, please!
I started with boar brushes. Acquired a Super badger in a trade. You, Sir, PIFed me my first synthetic - a TBS brand brush. I've been reading and thinking about the Plisson types. I feel confidant I can stop looking. This is The One.
  13. The last time there was a post in this vain, I had to buy and restore a Rubberset 400. Mmm, I wonder what else I could buy that I could pop a Tux into?

It just keeps getting better. I haven't found a soap or cream this knot won't lather.

Beautiful finish, clean lines. Top Shelf Craftsmanship Jim! That's going to make a fine finished unit.
