    Yes, I do find it a bit less drying than Arko, but still more so than some other soaps. For travel purposes, you couldn't go wrong with either, but they are also just great values and good to use all the time. I wouldn't eliminate either from my rotation based on a bit of drying, as it isn't too bad, a good PSB takes care of it, and they have such a great performance/$ ratio on everything else. The Erasmic on the other hand is gone permanently.

    Andreas Segovia is flat out amazing. The first time I listened to his stuff, I thought there were three guitar players. Not my normal music, but it comes up on the iPod quite a bit.

    I was surprised by how long lasting the shave was. Normally, a DE shave isn't as long lasting as a straight. The floating head gave a good enough shave that it was.

    Razor: Schick L1 injector
    Brush: Trader Joe's synthetic
    Lather: Route 66 Twisted Tweed
    Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Fine American Blend, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, XTG, XTG (upper face)

    Nice shave this morning with Twisted Tweed. I am out of town and had more time than normal. Two full passes with an extra XTG pass for my upper face. Smooth, smooth is the word. I don't go for three passes like that very often. Fine American Blend and Nivea is a great way to finish it off.

    @Bama Samurai - Enjoy your trip! I'll have to check out your BBQ joint sometime. Hole-in-the-wall-8-seat places are generally the best. You ever been to a Lawler's BBQ around Huntsville?

    I love the Frostbite. It isn't maybe quite as cold as the name implies, but it has a good nip to it and is great on the skin.

    A thoroughly enjoyable shave today. Irving gets more comfortable with every use, and B&M lather never disappoints, especially when you load up enough of it to shave an ox.

    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

    For this morning's shave, I put aside the Fatboy and picked up a newly-acquired New LC. This is one of several razors I received as part of @Morman Bridge's incredibly generours PIF. This particular razor is a bit of a Frankenrazor; it appears to be an early New LC (no Pat. No.) but the center has been milled out to accommodate the wider collet of a Common Bar Handle. Except for a small spot on the handle, the plating on this razor is excellent.

    This is my first time using a "real" New LC as my previous experience has been with a New LC-based Goodwill 160. The last time I used that one was back in OCtober and I was having some technique issues at the time. Today's shave went well, though, and I ended up with a BBS but with some burn from the Alum. I need to make some time in the future to get reacquainted with this razor.

    I have tried La Toja, and like Arko or Palmolive it is a great soap, and not as drying as these. I only find it drying when compared to what I consider the best soaps in this particular area: Stirling, Route 66, and Stubble Trubble (in no particular order). These soaps set the bar high for leaving my skin soft and supple.

    I almost forgot...

    I had a bit of a "You Know You've Seen Too Much Shenanigans When..." moment, this morning, while looking at a can of Icy Hot Spray and realizing it was 18% Menthol.
