Sunrise is always a simplistic pleasure we seldom really take time to enjoy. Below is one of several photos I took of the sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor, Maine. This was one stop on my last (getting ready to take another) solo road trip across country. If you ever find yourself in that neck of the woods - you really need to do this. You can drive to the top of the mountain and there is a large parking lot - very easy to do. If you do - you will be the first to see the sunrise on that day in the United States. Along with about about 300 of your closest friends - its a very popular thing to do.
When I first got up there - it was socked in with fog. Then about 10 minutes before sunrise it suddenly dissipated and nothing but blue skies. You can still see a bit of fog below. It was magical.
Thanks Jared. I'm having a blast! I'm in Wisconsin today for a bit then driving back to Chicago for the remainder.
