    I posted in the "what straight razor did you use today" thread that I wasn't happy with the hone job I did on this left-handed kamasori, so I took it back to the stones last night. I redid the bevel on the Naniwa 1k then took it up through the 3,5,8,12 progression. A few laps on a felt strop with .5 micron diamond spray then 50 laps or so on English Bridle, and now it's a different beast. Nice smooth shave this morning before heading out to Christmas Eve lunch with the in-laws.

    I thought I was getting good shaves with my Kamisori Razors, until I started honing folding straights over the past several months. I now know the shaves with them were just "OK". I need to take my two to the Welsh Slate Stones. I also have a complete restoration job needing a handle wrap, and hone.

    Jim my friend, there is no turning back. I keep telling myself that my next shave will be with an injector. I have no will. I always grab a straight now.

    The shaves are not yet on par with an injector. It is just the satisfaction of using a straight I cannot resist. The force is too strong.

    I hear ya, Tom. I haven't used a de in well over a year, and my beloved injectors are looking at the inside of a box:(. The only regret I have is not coming to the dark side sooner.

    Today was my first full straight shave with no safety backup. I got a great shave without a safety and survived.
