I fell down the hole again and had to try my first GEM style razor. I purchased a 1912 Every Ready off the bay. Should get it by Friday, but without blades, I will need to start shopping before I can try it! With all the buzz on the new razors coming, I decided to try a classic. Steve
Waiting on a 24mm black and white synthetic brush from Whipped Dog, a pack of Feather blades and Ingram shave cream.
Commissioned Robert of Zen Shave to make me a "Crossbones" 24mm handle made with Ironwood. Going to drop in either a 24mm Manchurian or 24mm Extra Dense Silvertip both are Romera knots. Viking Soaps: Citron V2. Now uses Essential Oils and not Fragrance Oils and Old Norse AS Balm. L&L Grooming DFS 2017 LE Shave Soap and Aftershave Splash This is their description of the scent: The Scent: Just because the scent has fresh and fruity notes, don't think that means it's not masculine. With rich undertones, you can wear this scent on a bright summer day when the sun is beating down and sunglasses are a must. At the same time, it is equally as appropriate for dressed up party when you need a little something to impress everyone in the room, including that special someone. Scent Notes: Blood Orange, Lemon, Sandalwood, Amber, Black Pepper, Rosemary, Lavender
I just snagged this on the Bay: a Schick E2 and a Heldtite brush. The E2 will replace one I traded and the Heldtite will be fun to restore.
Yes, it's a Clone, and Zamak as well. For two dollars, eighty eight cents including shipping I'll give a Futur-ish DE a try!
Ok, forgot to put mine up here, but I also ordered it. If it's the same clone that's been selling for around $20.00, could be ok. Hey, for less than $3.00, why not..........
Just two more lather bowls from The Distinctive Goat. First one is called Sinker Log Shave Bowl and this is what he states about the bowl: "In the late 1800's Cypress was cut for timber and floated out of the bayous in mass. Occasionally logs would sink to the bottom during the journey. This is the wood used to make a limited quantity of shaving bowls. We have wood that has been underwater for 100+ years and who knows how old the tree was when it was harvested. Being in the water of the bayou the logs absorbed minerals and tannic acids to produce some amazing colors in the wood". This one style 4 in the sinker log series. This one is Style 10. Initially purchased for a friend in CA who birthday is in 3 weeks but just spoke with him less than half hour ago and all he does is face lather now so add another bowl to my collection!
I'm waiting on a vintage razor that I've never heard of before. Google takes me to a load of court suits(from the 30/40s). If anybody had a waits, please chime in.
