Just two more lather bowls from The Distinctive Goat.

First one is called Sinker Log Shave Bowl and this is what he states about the bowl: "In the late 1800's Cypress was cut for timber and floated out of the bayous in mass. Occasionally logs would sink to the bottom during the journey. This is the wood used to make a limited quantity of shaving bowls. We have wood that has been underwater for 100+ years and who knows how old the tree was when it was harvested. Being in the water of the bayou the logs absorbed minerals and tannic acids to produce some amazing colors in the wood". This one style 4 in the sinker log series.



This one is Style 10. Initially purchased for a friend in CA who birthday is in 3 weeks but just spoke with him less than half hour ago and all he does is face lather now so add another bowl to my collection!

I'm curious to see.

On one hand, I'm intimidated by the reported blade gap. My Fatboy never makes it above '5' while the Futur starts at it's 9. On the other hand, I've been reading that the design of the razor is such that the gap really isn't an issue.

I figure that as long as I don't injure myself to the point that I have to explain it to DW or DD, then everything will be fine and I can always PIF it if I don't like it.

 

BTW on the future clone you can start below 1, you can start at .5. Also I used it on 2 and normally shave with my FB on 5.

I'm waiting for these to come in ! I spent way too much on these. But after a year of trying , I went for it.

 

Those two factors, the give away price & the ability to go beyond Fat Boy at 9, were my gotta try one decision makers.
I've not used many modern razors but the Jetson/Star Trek styling of the Futur has caught my eye in STOD photos. Thank you Enablers!
