Way back on 14 Aug I bought a brush from Frank Shaving on eBay. I bought a 24mm Silvertip Badger. I posted about it HERE. When it arrived on the 26th it was not quite right. It was a little scratchier than what I thought it should have been as well bigger than 24mm. It measured about 28.5mm with my caliper. The seller had a 100% rating so I reached out to them. I told them what I had ordered and what I got in hopes that something could be worked out. The seller confirmed that the wrong brush was sent. He said he would send me the correct brush right away. He also gave me a choice on the first brush, I could keep the brush and pay just $15 of the $28.98 he sell the brush for or send it back to him and he would reimburse me the cost of shipping. Now I can't say no to a deal and as I was quoted a price at just a tad over half off I said I would pay the $15. After some emails back and forth the brush I bought back on the 14 Aug is on it's way, supposably. This is the brush I ordered. And this is the brush I got the first time around.
Now I'm waiting on this little gem to come to me. It's a 1960 F1 Gillette Super Speed Flair tip from the same Qtr. I was born.
Jim, my brush is in LA, very very fast customer service, I've been emailing the vendor over a tracking number, they've replied extremely fast. Thank you for the heads up.
Stealth Slant clone from Manly in Ireland. Usually I would opt for the chrome which is available locally from Razor Blades & More, but the Matador branding on the head is just too cheesy. Either comes out to $34 delivered. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Hmmm....I seem to remember you being the 'enabler' for a similar order of mine, Andrew! I think you'll enjoy the Mastro Miche- I got the AS for the great sale price, but paid full price for the tub of soap last winter. I believe there is a new formula out now as well.
Indeed, its funny I'm really like the "cheap" TFS soaps that I've gotten. But whats with the funky labels. I bet they would have sold much better with different labels. I think they recognize that now and have better labels.
No kidding. Not only very unusual and off-putting graphics, but some cheapo paper as well that fades and wrinkles. I've enjoyed the Mastro Miche, and the jury is still out for me on Farinik, as I'll give it more time in the fall. Not the same formula across the board, though, as Mastro Miche has Lanolin and Farinik doesn't. I haven't tried any of their soaps for Razorock.
I could not make up my mind on what to get for my first DE razor so I bought 2. I picked up a vintage 1965 Schick Krona with it's case off of eBay, and a 1962 Gillette Slim Adjustable double edge safety razor off of Etsy. The Krona is the below picture to the left and the Slim is the one to the right.
I'm thinking if getting one of these, after I called everyone nuts for having multiple razors. Go figure.
I've given most of my razors (probably 65-70) to my middle grandson as my legacy to him. This one will put me back up to 13.
