I have no idea who actually made this razor, but it’s a wonderful blade. I’m BBS this morning

    Jayaruh #84 Brush
    Air-Mail Razor
    Lucky Tiger
Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber After Shave
    Have fun![IMG]

    10 OCtober 2017 Shave

Pre: Hot water, soap from the container and a hot towel
    Razor: Gillette NEW SC
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: JR#161
Soap: Jeff's Soap by Cold River Soap Works
Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: Speick for Men

For today's shave I busted out Jeff's Soap. Since purchasing it, it has become a staple in my rotation. Not only for the cause, but because it's a great soap.
It's slick, has a great cushion and the scent, while flowery, has grown on me. If you've got the bucks to spare, it's a great cause and a great soap.
My usual weekday 2.5 pass shave yielded another BBS.
If I didn't also enjoy using my other razors and blades, I could easily stick to just the NEW/GSB combination.
Have a great Tuesday my fellow Denizens and......
    HANG TOUGH JEFF!!

I had to reread this a couple of times. Neal is actually favorably comparing Chinese steel to a piece of Russian steel! Will wonders ever cease.

This is like my last couple of attempts during MAYhem. No matter what I tried, it actually turned out pretty well.

Oh right, fridge / freezer -- big difference. Do let us know the results if you try it. If chilling a damp brush for a few days helps, my Semogue SOC may go for a trip to the kitchen...

Stropping doesn't help with coated stainless steel blades. With carbon steel it most definitely does - which might be the reason so many people did it before the advent of stainless steel blades. For the rest, it seems to me a lot of people still like CS blades, both DE and SE, enough to keep the CS blade lines open anyway. They can't ALL be wrong...

Tuesday morning October 10 - OC at the drugstore

Tarnished Gillette Old Type Single Ring / Topaz Platinum (2)
    Jason's non - 30DC Cypress Badger brush
KMF Lavender Shea cream in pump bottle
Alum and TSD Lavender Aftershave Milk

KMF is a great product, especially for relatively cheap drugstore item. To my shock, the pump even worked today! The badger was a pillowy soft luxury today as it laid on two good, thick coatings of lather. (And had enough left in the brush for about three more when I squeezed it out to clean it.)

Two passes with the old Gillette brought me to a BBS. The alum was a bit warm on my throat today but nothing major, and the TSD balm not only soothed any irritation but extended the shaving cream's lavender scent for awhile longer.

An excellent start to the day. Hope everybody else has a great Tuesday!

I haven't been posting regularly for the past several days. Tried to just follow along on my phone between work and family visits, screwed up Charlie's name trying to read without full attention and somehow escaped without a Custon Title. Was away for work from Wednesday to Friday, came home in the wee hours Friday night, had a nice shave at home Saturday morning, and then headed to my inlaws a few hours away to spend the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend with family. I am now back home, and looking forward to getting back to relaxing shaves in my own 'den'.

I changed out the Nacet for a Feather in the OT. I have had a tuck of Feathers since I got my first blade sampler almost a year ago. I've never used the Feathers. Why? Who knows, but back then I think it was partly out of reputation. Anyway, I actually forgot I had the tuck, and found it moving some shaving stuff around last night.
I went to town with the Endurance in a lather bowl and had 3 really nice passes. One weeper on my chin and I would call this a DFS+. The OT has become a very nice, reliable shaver. I finished with the fantastic Reserve Spice and all is good.
    Have a great day all!

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I would have to do some long-term comparison to make any bolder of a statement but, hey, when it works it works. Even with me chanting "turn crappy, turn crappy" under my breath while shaving.

    Beautiful razor Brian.

    Great Picture and lineup.

How does KMF compare to CO Bigelow?

Great picture and lineup Jason. Maybe things will settle down for you.

I agree, Perry. Palmolive is a good, cheap stick.
    Gorgeous set up, Clint.
What do you think of the Ghost Town Barber, Brian?
I did the 'fridge and wipe' treatment on an Omega Pro knot. I haven't put it in a handle yet, but it definitely looks more broken in, fwiw.
Thanks, Clint. I'm pretty sure things won't slow down, but I can hope...

Thanks Jason! Sometimes Ignorance is Bliss. I'm not seeking perfection, just maybe 90% flaw reduction.

I'm glad you were talking about hair and not teeth! Those ear hairs tickle, especially the "goat" or tragus hairs.

Thank you Jared! Thanks to hanging around the 30 DC I've developed an appreciation for my LC and so many others.

    C.O. Bigelow shave cream
Thayers Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food

I performed two passes and extra touch-ups on my jaw line and neck this morning. I have a slightly closer than normal shave with some faint irritation. Thankfully, it has not diminished my manly handsomeness. I'm confident that I'll provide a generous dose of visual delight to all whose paths I cross today...especially if I remember to suck in my gut. :happy102:

I forgot to mention earlier that I celebrated my three-year anniversary on TSD on Sept. 28. I am thankful to know you all. I've learned much from this wonderful community, especially the fine folks on the 30DC and I count you all as friends. @jtspartan , I'm currently accepting limited edition gifts. My name is C-H-A-R-L-I-E. :happy097:

    Have a fantastic day!
