Wednesday Shave: Another new razor up today, a CV Heljestrand, compared to yesterdays monster blade this feels almost like a toy. I do struggle with small light razors but this one was comfortable to hold and has a very nice edge. Zero irritation but short of BBS. This razor was on my must-try list, only time will tell if it can earn a place in the den. OCtober 18 SOTD: Razorock Plissoft Brush Palmolive Classic SC Gillette Sheraton Stirling Unscented PSB Clubman AS It was a really smooth shave this morning with the Sheraton. This is a great razor that performs well. The Palmolive Classic is always a good performer as well. I hope everyone has a great day!
OCtober 18, 2017 Wolfman OC Ti (0.74mm) Personna 74 (3) Simpson Chubby 2 Synthetic Reef Point Test Depth Folsom & Co Capri Even with the procedure moved back to later in the morning, it has been pretty busy getting ready. A great three pass shave this morning ending in a near BBS. Better still no weepers this morning and the blade was very smooth. Now that Folsom & Co is back in business, I am enjoying the Capri. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
SOTD October 18, 2017 Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Razor: Schick I1 Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Wilkinson Sword shave stick Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Baker Street aftershave WTG, touch up Nice shave with the Wilkinson shave stick. Easy and plentiful lather. Nice slickness and protection. My mother in law brought this shave stick back from Germany earlier this summer. I think it's pretty cheap in the drug stores over there. But its performance is quite good for an inexpensive product. Shaving doesn't have to be expensive! Now - a question about boar brushes. I have three boars, this beautiful Jayaruh version, an Omega 49 and a Semogue. The Omega and Semogue are nice and broken in and work great. But I can't seem to get this little Jayaruh broken in. It's stiff. I've used it a good bit and it should be softer by now. What should I do? I haven't done anything other than use it for shaving - no soaking overnight or lathering and leaving overnight, etc. Any tips to help break it in more? I've enjoyed this shave stick focus so far this month. My results with them are far better. Hope you all have a great day!
Beautiful photo as always! If I were to start with one or two of the Folsom splashes which two would you recommend? I like the sound of all four but my budget is limited!
18 OCtober 2017 Williams Wednesday Shave Stepped away from the creams for this morning's shave. It was either gonna be the Fat or Williams. Flipped a coin and it was Williams. This was only my second shave with this icon. First one lathered fine. I thought I'd replicated my effort this morning, but, ah no. Lathered up for the first pass and by the time I was done with the left side of my face the rest of the lather was going bye-bye. Got the first pass in and dropped in more water and really beat the hell out of it. Managed to get a good lather for the rest of the 2.5 pass shave. Obviously I have to put in more work with this soap. Bottom line was a DFS. Splashed on some Fine "American Blend" and it was off to another day of fun and frolic in the wonderful world of corporate security. Later!
Mama Bear Earl Grey Tea Soap B-400 Brush by Tom Eye-Gore Razor by Tom Gem Stainless Blade (2) Lucky Tiger Brut Dominant After Shave Have fun!
Thank you Perry. I’ve only tried Shambala and Capri. Even though the descriptions sound different I thought both were very similar in being citrus forward. Of the two I preferred Capri. The Shady Past is calling my name this time around. I think Doug has tried some of the others and maybe he will chime in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The brush and razor just pop against that background. Very cool looking cup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
