I posted larger pictures and additional information in this thread... but here are the smaller versions:

    IMG_2242.JPG IMG_2244.JPG IMG_2246.JPG IMG_2248.JPG

The brush on the left is a Klenzo B843 (I had never heard of the brand until Saturday)
The brush on the right is an Ever Ready 100
The mug on the left is a vintage Hazel Atlas Glass Company shaving mug. The only marking on it is the logo on the bottom... a H over an A
And the mug on the right needs no explanation.... It's so pretty. I'm sleeping with it under my pillow.

Hmmm.... I'm thankful I didn't have to use the bathroom right after splashing on the Osage Rub. :happy088:

I do thank you for the advice. I will remember it. Having seen your words of caution I can definitely understand the logic of it. Now I know how Adam @Drygulch got that custom title, and I have wondered about it.

This reminds me of an experience I had when I was 18 years old, and the first time I had eaten.... oh wait. I shouldn't tell that story here. Never mind. :D

    She did and thanks, Clint!

Congrats on that decision. I'm happy that you and your family are happy!

She kept putting it off but finally used it. I coached her on loading the blade, riding the cap, finding the right angle for the blade on the skin, not using pressure like her carts.... Her first stroke on her first leg went well. Her second stroke, she used pressure and this caused a couple of bleeders. But after that the shave went fine and her legs were pretty smooth afterwards. She expressed satisfaction with it. I think we have a new recruit. Just not an "addicted" recruit. I didn't pressure my wife. I let her know it was her choice to use it and I'll help her learn to use it.

    Thanks, Andrew!

Good father, good husband, good man!

I'm no where near the same level of skill you are Chris.... but I completely agree with your assessment.

30DC Crew.... thank you for all of your inspiration, and sharing your experience and knowledge this past month. This goes for everyone participating in this January focus, not just those few quoted in this post. See you in February!

Thanks, Guys. I just really think that “No Pressure” is probably the most important focal point for newbies that came from carts, because it is so ingrained. But after you develop your Napoleon Dynamite style skill set with your vorpal blade, you can adapt to each tool.

Thank you Jared. I just can't get over how soft this brush feels. It is so different from my other badgers that have serious backbone and scrub.

Looking forward to following your SE focus in February.

My honest to God belief is that Thater is the best value in 3 Band Silvertip. Mine is such an amazing knot. Apples to apples from Simpson cost me $70 more. And I like Simpson.

I can believe it. I am the third owner of this brush and the knot still had a faint badger funk smell when it arrived. So it was only used a few times. This one is supposed to be a size 3 with a 28mm x 56mm knot but it actually specs out a little of 30mm x 56mm. I have always wanted to try a Thater 3 band and am very happy with the brush.
