That's your favorite Stirling scent, of all their line? Hmmm.

You've done a great job turning me onto Stirling. Of all the samples you sent, Stirling is the tops. They're all great soaps (except for maybe the Dapper Dragon. I haven't made a decision on that one yet.), but Stirling nudges the rest out to take top spot. It would be hard to get much better in terms of slickness and scents. I'd say that Soap Commander might be the runner up.

The SS was a find at our local indoor flea market. It was the only razor I saw in the entire place. It was in a small case in a dingy part of the building, and I paid a whopping $8.00 for it. I don't think it had ever been used.

 

When it comes to The Sheep, I don’t plug it, I preach it. I even get dressed up and knock on doors, Saturday mornings, handing out samples and spreading the glory.

 

Not my favorite scent, just meant favorite almond soap. I have too many Stirling soaps to pick a favorite.

 

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! I'll definitely work on 'riding the cap' to get the shave angle spot on. I plan to use all of my products until they run out, so I'll be consistent there! The only changes will be that I've just ordered an alum block, and I'll order a new brush (Semogue SOC boar) after 30 days.

 

Welcome to The Crew, James! I think you're gonna like it here. I think you'll find that this is the nicest group of folks assembled on the 'net.

For what it's worth, don't focus on getting BBS shaves. I know I'm echoing what you've already been told. I seldom ever get BBS, nor do I shoot for it. Hair grows back quickly, so even if you do achieve it, it won't last long. Two passes should easily give you a fine shave. Aim for fun and enjoyable shaves.

No shave and no Baili yesterday, so today was the J1 with a Japanese Twin. Not a lot to say other than a great shave.

The Baili razor I ordered from AliExpress is now supposed to arrive tomorrow. (It hit the local distribution point this morning.) I really don't understand the class of service it is coming by. According to the USPS, it hit the regional facility at Trenton on Wednesday night. On First Class mail, that means I would have it the next day; instead it was estimated to be delivered on Saturday and didn't actually hit the local hub until this morning (Sunday). It looks like it actually left Trenton at 4am today and was "In Transit To Destination" in the interim. WTF?
