I’ve been using DEs for 2-2 1/2 years now. My boyfriend told me that I’d probably save money if I switched, so to convince me he ordered me a cheap one off Amazon w/ the 100 count of Astra SPs . Smoothest legs and I’ve saved so much money, plus I actually enjoy shaving now.

June 16, 2016. My wife gave me a DE for my birthday, and even on my first shave it was better than the Fusions, Mach3s, Sensors, etc.
Never looked back since then, although I keep a few Sensor cartridges around for flights.

6 years, but for the past year no shaving at all. lost the will.... I am getting close to shaving soon stocking up on after shaves, soaps and for Fathers day I splurged on a bunch of new old razors.. So maybe real soon.
Its split in the household. my son wants me to keep the beard and my daughter wants it gone, she says I look homeless... My wife would have wanted it gone too so off it shall go soon (baby steps, cant rush these things)

Some fine razors. Fatboys were, and still are my favorite DE razors. I've since moved on to Straights, a couple of years ago.

So, what you are saying , in a nutshell/poke in the eye, is that you still use carts, and dont care what people think???
Then again this thread isn't meant to draw hostility, just allow those of us who had problems with carts state how long they have been cart free, and how they now feel. Some, like you, have no problems with carts, but, a large majority of us have, due to various reasons, out of our control.

I hated to shave, which is why I usually did let my beard grow for a few day before shaving. I then hated how the cartridges would clog. More than a decade ago, I received my first DE: a plastic Wilkinson (a free gift from my parents in law). I tried it a few times but I was not impressed as it clogged too. So I cut off the safety bar on one side for the WTG pass. I did some experimental shaves like that, but never really liked the razor and I never bought any more blades for it. Instead I went back to cartridges until around Christmas 2012 when I bought a Mühle R41 2011. It was at this point I seriously begun using DE and what I really count as my start. This was the only razor I used for at least 6 months, if not more.

It's all good. You are correct, some around here take things too seriously. Kind of like starting an Arko vs Williams soap discussion.
