I am waiting on this left-handed AutoStrop. Note that the gears are on the left side.

 

Is this a joke?

 

No, it is not. Have you ever seen an AutoStrop with the gears on the left side? I will do comparison pics when I get it.

 

Can I assume the left-handed part is the stropping?

 

If you hold the razor so that the blade is pointing towards you, the gears are on the left. If you hold it in your left hand like you are going to shave, the gears will be towards you. Normally, the gears are on the right side so that when you hold it in your right hand ready to shave the gears are towards you. I just thought it interesting that I have never seen this configuration before.

 

Waiting on a new brush from Razorock. Wife picked up my current one and discovered that she like it for applying some kind of makeup so I took the opportunity to buy another one along with a brush and razor stand.

Not sure why, but .....

A late 40's Gold Tech razor in case and a green Ever Ready green bakelite shaving brush.

 

I know the feeling. For some reason, I've really been wanting a Gold Fat Handle (even just the handle with no head). Never mind that I have plenty of Nickel Fat Handle Techs of various flavors.

 

Ok I've been dragging my heals on this and finally pulled the trigger ....


An Ikon ShaveCraft SBS; this would be my 3rd non vintage razor. The other two were EJ89 and a Fatip Grande; I didn't get a thrill from them so sent them on their way. Not that they were bad, but no WOW factor.

 

Coming soon a Vintage Ever Ready Streamline SE razor and the original Clamshell case made in England
