Got my Stihl FS-250 brushcutter started again by removing the carb and disassembling it to clean the screen. And ordered my first ever set of Naniwa stones to learn to hand sharpen knife blades (no straight razors for me thanks). Also finished cutting the grill cloth frames for a set of 15" JBL bass speakers I'm refurbishing. Have the new cloth (Sunn/Fender style), metal corners, 1/4 inch jacks and 10 gauge speaker wire ready to install on freshly Duratex coated cabinets.
I set up a folding bookcase. Having some concerns about its stability, I added a cross-brace to the back & a mantel top. The fun part was gettting them. Each piece had to be ordered from a different supplier. Here are some pics;
Today I was eating lunch with my wife in a real nice place. This guy passed our table and said something nasty to my wife. Then I proceeded to knock the guy around. That wasn't the manly thing I did. The manly thing I did was to pick the guy up and put him back in his wheelchair and sign his body cast, get well soon. Sent from my QTAQZ3 using Tapatalk
I fixed my truck. Last night, when i was about to head out to work, i heard a pop, and all electrical systems went dead. When i mean dead, i mean nothing. The truck has two batteries, only 1 year old, so, nooooo, it couldnt be the battery. After about 20 minutes of checking everything out, I zeroed in on one battery. I took it in to be tested, this morning, and bingo, there was a short inside it. I put the new one in, and it fired up. The wife was advising me to have it towed, to a mechanic, and let them figure it out. Haaa, only as a last resort.
I was making coffee this morning looked out the front window like I do every morning said to myself "Damn that is a funny looking deer sitting at the top of the driveway" grab the binoculars took a look said "Damn that's a wolf" you know they really run fast when you put a couple of 45-70 rounds above their head. We saw a bear crossing the road Saturday morning, wolf this morning I think it's about time to buy some tags for the rest of the year. You can just make him out at the top of the driveway laying down here Life in the Backwoods of North Idaho
My 18 yr old daughter has been bugging me to teach her how to shoot pistols. So, this morning, I took her to the gun range, and taught her with a Ruger .22 cal target pistol, and a Browning Buckmark .22 cal target pistol. I left all my fun guns at home. Better to learn on small calibers. Both are good pistols, but the Browning has a much nicer trigger, and that's the one she gravitated towards. We only shot the 10 yard range, and she could keep them inside of about 12 inches. After about 80 rounds, she was at about 3 inches, average. She and I were both proud of her shooting. She wants to go back again, soon. But, next time, the 12 yr old daughter can come along, so I can devote more attention to her.
Finished honing an old strait razor, after I flattened my stone. Stroped it for a while. Shaved 1 cheek with it, to test it. I'm getting there, considering I've never sharpened a strait nor have I shaved with one. It worked, it really worked. I know this is corny but I did a Tim Allen, Hhhughhargh harghurgh ugh... Just for good form. tp
Shaved both cheeks this morning with a bad boy straight razor. First time other than a test last night on one side. My wife looked at me and said in a stearn, deep, voice. JUST, be, careful! I think I got her attention. Finished with my superfine loaded with a second use feather blade. I know, I know, a few months from now shaving with a straight razor will be old news. But for now, (insert Tarzan yell)! tp
