I'll take you up on that offer, I think it would qualify as an open comb for OCtober! BTW if anyone else wants one of these I get them im bulk lots all the time and dont sell them so I probably have at least 10 of them sitting around.

I was thinking that I might want to pick up some spare MMOCs just in case anything happens to the mechanics in mine...

... Is this type of MMOC easy to come by cheaply?

 

I have tried the Scots Pine Sheep and decided not to buy it in a tub. I'm not a fan of most pine scents and this soap was no exception. It isn't horrible and I know a lot of guys like it, but just too much pine for me.

 

I've been looking all over and cannot find any brass MMOCs with the bumps inside like this one (and mine)... Is it unusual for brass MMOCs to have the bumps? It doesn't look like mine was ever nickel plated! @wchnu Fuzzy, what do you know about this?

Thanks Andrew. No Notch center bar. Blade just does not EASILY drop into place and I have to fight with it to get it out. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

MMOC's are pretty common on ebay. The condition varies but I think you can usually find a few around.

 

It's the brass with bumps I can't find!

I received a package of items today from Hendrix Classics & Co. aka @Pete123: two tubs of shaving soap, 4 bath bars and he included a small tub of his aftershave balm that he is currently testing. Also, a knife with ramshorn scales and a blade made from one of the supersteels. Pete did a beautiful job on the scales. The knife came with a small allen wrench included for adjusting the fasteners as needed, which I thought was a nice touch. I am looking forward to using the shave soap, trying the bath soap and the aftershave balm, and carrying the knife:

Not too much to say today other than "Good shave!"

Did three passes today for a change, going ATG on my face and XTG on my neck after my usual two passes. Result was BBS with no complaints from the alum.

I was wrong Joseph. I knew it was a Gillette from before I was born, but not the Red Tip. A '46-'47 Aristocrat that has an older style of blade centering device. The wings are tight when installing or removing blades. See arrow in photo.

 

Would that be a similar configuration to my '47 SS? I had the same razor a while back that never had an issue.

 

Good question. I don't know. I'm knee deep in Friday Night Pizza with the grandkids else I'd research the issue!

For those that aren't (yet) members of The Health Club, it's DiGiorno's Bacon in the crust. I added anchovies and topped it with a little extra shredded Mozzarella. The kids opted for thick crust cheese with added pineapple rings and a sprinkle of taco cheese. We munched on green grapes while the pizza was baking.

 

Want to adopt another grandson.... that sounds like awesome pizza.
