@Screwtape John here is the thread I was thinking of. https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/gillette-case-restoration-projects.57868/
Stocked up on my favorite barber shop scent. Reminder that the clock isn’t ticking to stock up on anything from The Shave Den Shop.
There is a thread from a while back on a case restoration where I sent the leather for it that came out nice. I can’t remember who it was though.
Thanks, Clint. That is very helpful. Looking at those restorations, I think most of my cases might actually be rebuildable. Maybe not back to "authentic" appearance but at least into good-looking working cases.

Ummm...did you say you just pulled out another 18 razors? Mainly cased OCs including a Bostonian? More Aristocrats? Even more NEWs? Just how many more do you have to pull out and shave with for the first time, anyway? I think some pics are in order, John.
OFFICIAL NOTICE FROM CARTEL HQ The Cartel is relieved to announce the arrival back at HQ of the one, the only, the clearly overrated and make believe Czar. Reports had him leaving the far corner of Kansas at around 1300 hours Central Daylight Time and taking a different route back to the STL metro area than he took to the wastelands. Apparently he had to stop by his former HQ in that area to close out some business. More info to follow. Comrade @Drygulch had offered a rest stop in Baldwin City, another former stomping ground of the Czar but the change in route and the time of day in which he arrived in that general area of Kansas prohibited any stop. Apologies to the good Comrade. A rain check would be appreciated. Please file in triplicate as usual. The Czar wishes to express his appreciation for the kind words of the membership in regards to his reasons for the trip. He also wishes to convey that he will not be touching a razor tonight. Something about too many miles, too few days......sounds like a wimp-out but he is the Czar. He also wishes to convey his best wishes for a successful Monday for all of the loyal Comrades of this thread. One other note - given the change in temperature he endured when arriving in the far reaches of the realm, he is investigating the very real possibility that hell may be freezing over. More as we discover the truth.
Aside from a few TTOs here and there that is all my usable DE razors now dug out and cleaned. I still have a few Rolls Razors and similar largely useless oddball collectibles stashed away. I will photograph the DE razors as I use them.
October 16, 2018 Wolfman Ti OC (.74mm) with Hempel Ti Feather Zenith B27 Boar 28mm x 55mm Reef Point Tranquility Fine Lavender Aftershave Another automatic near perfect shave this morning. The Zenith brush continues to break in nicely. The tips are soft and as expected the brush has a lot of backbone. Two passes and touch ups just missed the baby. A splash of Fine Lavender and I think I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
SOTD October 16, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: vintage Personna Ultra Chrome Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector Brush: Surrey restored badger Soap: Hendrix and Classics Company Barbershop Post: Witch hazel, Reef Point Classic Barbershop aftershave Easy and fairly automatic shave this morning. The Schick 66 works quite well and is efficient. I'm impressed with the Hendrix soap's quality and performance. It's top notch soap and the free sample was a generous offering. Thank you, @Pete123! @clint64 mentioned that Reef Point will be closing after their remaining inventory is sold. That's too bad given the high quality of their products. But, I understand why and hope the best for them. Have a great day!
I am envious. I set mine in a handle Jason made, but it is still pretty tightly grouped. Not sure if it just needs more use or if I should shim it higher. Any thoughts? It is good to be the Czar... at least prior to the revolution and upheaval anyway. Vive la revolucion!
Terrific picture, Clint. That handle is a beauty. Great shave and photo, Perry! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
