Thank you, Clint. Dealt with some really tough stuff Monday morning, but the week has been fine since. And you?

It is definitely a Rockwell because the R stamped on the plates stand for Rockwell. I would say it is the stainless steel 6S. If not, then the gunmetal 6C. It is difficult to tell by the pic.
Thank you, Jason! I was definitely a walking time bomb. I treat my daily exercise regimen as my prescribed medicine. Dosage is at least 6x a week.

Thanks Evan! Part of the program here is to help you slow your roll. Don't get in too much of a hurry to own everything. Common mistake many of us have made leading to piles of gear we only thought we wanted. As your preferences develop you'll acquire, test, accept or reject whole categories of products. What has your eye right now? Maybe we can guide you to the right stuff.
    Thanks Gary!
Thanks for the tip Joseph. I ought to do a sample before going all in! Most lime soaps & AS are on the sweet side and I'm OK with that. If the makers use Essential Oil I have that and kind of know what to expect. The soap is certainly in my acceptable range.

To be honest, Paul, it is probably one of my least 'favourite' Jeeves scents. Of those that I have or have had in Soap or Splash or both, I'd list them by scent in this order: Tobacco Bay Leaf>Blood on Steel>Apothecary>Key Lime>Mountain Rain>Cherry Blossom. I like the top 3 very much, but the Apothecary needed a little more strength to the scent.

Monday and Tuesday were extremely stressful. So far today has been better but still not great.

Happy to hear you are feeling better, Neal! We need your hand back on the rudder here soon...
I'm fascinated by that new bowl every day, Jim. What a truly remarkable piece. I've got the Mountain Man in a shampoo bar (my latest way to test some scents...). I think I'll pull it out next.
Great combo, Jim! You do 'homeless' with style, my friend...:happy088:
Nice pic again, Perry. I think I missed the description of the 'Marco method'. Is that like Super Goop/Lathering?
Another nice B&W pic, Daniel. You are making great progress!
Any problems getting those prolines into the Injector, Terry?
Lovely, Clint. Glad to hear the soap is a winner. Perhaps a few drops of an AS in it?
Nice report, Joseph. That Baume.be has been available here in Canada for a few years through Fendrihan. Mixed reviews, but with most soaps of course- TTT.
Wow that Kami is giving @Keithmax a running in the 'Bedspring Prison Shiv' contest, Blair!
Mental note to self- Contact Gary at Midnight on Friday to discuss a 'fair' trade for some of his nice British 'Crats...:innocent
Yup, a pet peeve of mine as well. That's why I made my own large lathering bowls, and made them out of wood.

First off, Happy Birthday to Joseph and Charlie!! @Primotenore @wristwatchb
Beautiful shot Jim! I'd like to see a shot of the bowl filled with lather if you would oblige me next time.
    Fantastic shave Jim!
    Excellent shave a photo, Perry!
Great shave, Daniel! You're getting there!
Awesome shave Terry! Enjoy your day off!
Stunning photo, Clint! How many shaves to you think you will get out of the Fortis sample? Do you know the approximate amount of soap that was sent ?
    Awesome shave, Dale!
    Beautiful shot Joseph!
    Awesome photo and shave, Blair!
Very Nice Gary! Glad you like the blades!
    Excellent setup Matthew!
    Beautiful photo Jason!

Not enough info to really tell

    Is the spine taped ?
While doing all that stropping were there any scratches from the Gritty side on the strop ??
Look at the shoulder is there a mark from hitting it on the gritty side ??

Eliminate the variables one by one to find the issue.

Once you eliminate all the Razor and Stone possibilities, you then have to look at the guy in the mirror, MANY people favor a direction be it up or down or left and right
It takes some adjustment to get rid of that,..

Are you using one or two hands while honing ?? One of the worst things we promote on these forums is One hand honing when the new honer simply doesn't have the kind of control to do that, nor do they know what effect they are trying to achieve on the edge.

Just some ideas to get you started at what to look at

I love the new bowl! Everything about it. Perfect size both for comfort and whipping up a lather with zero clanking and the texture all the buttons add seems to speed the lather making process. Highly recommended!

I don't see a problem with whipping up a lather for a photo op. Any scent in particular?

Thank you, Jason! The Marco Method I'm referring to is where you completely wet your brush, only let water fall out by gravity (don't shake it out), and then start loading until the top of the soap feels pasty. Lots of water at the beginning of the loading process.

Thank you Andrew. I was told the sample was 50g. I did not confirm the weight. So far the soap looks like it will last about the same as most artisan soaps. I plan on using the soap for the rest of the month by which time I will have 9 shaves and 1 test lather with the sample. Using the "Soap Destroyer" 10 times will give me a really good basis for estimating how long the soap will last.

This is good article which points to some of the variability in blades which can affect the users.

YMMV obv, but there is some sound science in it.

    Pereira Unbreakable Lather Bowl

I was at a crossroads this morning. I had planned to use the Blackland Sabre to finish out the month but a couple of days ago I got some new toys delivered and have been itching to try them out. So I decided to take the left fork this morning and take the TNNSER 3D out for it's maiden voyage. Built a fantastic shiny, slick, Stirling lather in my new bowl:

Painted on the lather and went to work. It took a few strokes to get use to the lightness of the razor and to dial in the angle but once I did, oh baby! This razor is very efficient for only weighing half an ounce. The handle is also feels great to hold in any position! Three passes got me close to catching the baby but he just managed to slip away. Very impressive finish for my first outing with the TNNSER. A generous splash of AS was applied and I felt no sting from the alcohol. Have a great day my friends!

    Hump day!
